Can the hose holder be placed under the mattress or at the head of the bed?

It is meant to be placed under the mattress. You can use at head of bed. However, if you place at the head of with a headboard; I would not suggest it. Due to the connection pieces are plastic and will break if to much pressure on them. Such as leaning against a hard table top. I.e. head board or bed side table.
