We needed a window fan, but our double hung windows have an opening of 22.75" which is too narrow for most conventional window fans. We purchased a Vornado free standing fan many decades ago, and it is easily the best fan we have ever owned.. So when I saw this Vornado fan that just fits inside our window opening, I order it without hesitation. There is some required assembly to attach the handles. It took some effort to snap the handles into place, but once installed the entire assembly is very solid -- you would never know the fan wasn't fully assembled at the factory. The slow speed is very very quiet yet moves a significant amount of air, perfect for overnight use in a bedroom. Medium speed can easily be heard but is not what I would call loud. The high speed is really powerful and can freshen a room with outdoor air quickly. While the sound level on high is significant, it is still a pleasant white noise. How I assign stars in a review. The star ratings are always in relation to the item's intended purpose, type, and durability. 5 stars - The item is perfect with no room for meaningful improvement. The item performs its intended function consistently, and without fail. It also appears to be durable in its manufacture and materials. 4 stars - While not perfect, any imperfections are likely to go unnoticed in normal use. The item should be durable given normal care and handling. 3 stars - The item has significant shortcomings or limitations, but these do not significantly degrade performance. I purchased this for in front of my Fisher fireplace insert because they no longer make the fan for my fireplace. This works perfect. It blows the air into the intake ducks underneath, and the air comes out around the top of the insert. Air flowing around and warming up my house. Thank you.

Great fan. On low speed you can barely hear it at all. HOWEVER, I evidently received the wrong instruction booklet. It said I would need the screws (included - NOT) & a screwdriver to attach the handles. So the first day I spent looking for screw holes & screws. So wrong. The next day I messed with it an hour here & an hour there and scouring the web for instructions or hopefully a video. Finally asked a question in “REVIEWS” and got an answer in a couple of hours. Just PUSH THEM HARD. No screws necessary. Sheesh!! Vornado, post a video !! My booklet said screws !!!! Not PUSH ! Otherwise this fan would’ve received five stars . The controls are in black as is the fan, so a little hard to find and see so i just put a piece of white tape above them. You will most likely love this fan . I have bought several Vornado over the yrs fans. Highly recommend.

Ok, I have only had this thing for a few days so hopefully I don't end up changing my opinion on anything here. But as a female going through a certain stage of life and getting those pesky hot flashes, I am always warm and have a hard time sleeping at night these days without a fan on me. Box fans are inconvenient and I have had to buy smaller desk-type fans and use them near/on my bed. While they did help, many of them are vertical fans and I needed air more width-wide. Turning them horizontal seemed to help for a while but over time it's damaging to a fan that is not created for that, and as a result I already ruined one and a second one is not sounding good now either. Enter this Vornado. Air width-wide, just like I need! I saw the design and I thought I could possibly place it on one end of my futon bed, and hopefully it would fit right, and hopefully the air would come out nice, and I'd finally have my solution. Well, I set it up, turned it on and was immediately impressed. It fits nice, the breeze is a comfortable cool and there are three settings. My small complaint is that I actually wish there was a fourth setting between the highest and the second highest, OR in place of the lowest setting which I think is way too low but maybe that's all some people want. The only other issue for me is that I like it set up in such a way that the power options wind up on the bottom, and I have to lift it to turn it on/change settings but I guess that's on me for wanting it set up that way, as I doubt they would design it to have the power options on both sides (that would really be nice!). It does work the other way, but I feel like the way I have it gets better airflow on me. Anyway, perfect, I love it, and should probably buy another one as a backup because I haven't seen anything that does exactly what this one does. Noise level is also reasonable for the settings. Not too much to say about this fan but I will try to make it informative. I bought it to use in my living room on the floor under the tv so it would give us some comfort in the summer and not take up too much room or look unsightly. So far it has performed perfectly. I love the low profile. Only negative thing I would say about it is the location of the switches is a bit hard to locate in a not well lit area and I don’t like the fact that they are flush with the unit. If the switches protruded a bit they would be easier to find. This is a personal issue and it’s not enough to keep me from recommending the fan to anyone. As for the amount of air it pushes out it’s not designed to be a wind tunnel type of fan it puts out a very nice amount of air for the size. It’s very quiet and it puts out a nice gentle air flow. If you want a nice low profile fan that can also be used as a mini tower this would work very nicely.

I love that the air intake is in the bottom of the fan. I use this to circulate air in my kid's room so the temperature is even. The kid's room air vent is in the corner, blocked by furniture. This fan is on 24/7 placed directly next to the air vent to circulate the air in the room so the temperature is even throughout. It is not the quietest but not invasive. We only use the lowest setting and the white noise helps the kids sleep.

funciona bien, supongo que en espacios grandes no tanto, pero a mí me funciona bien para un espacio de hasta 4x5, la estética fue la razón por la que lo escogí y se ve bastante bien, sólido y resistente, espero no falle.

Es una buena opción como ventilador, recircula el aire y refresca, el nivel mas bajo es muy cómodo no hace mucho ruido y refresca bastante bien
