Purchased my Plaud Note AI Voice Recorder in September, 2025, and immediately fell in love with it! My wife and I are in our 80's and not surprisingly have a lot of medical appointments. No longer do we get home and ask each other "What did the doctor say about that?" If you're my age you know I'm talking about. The Plaud is small, the size of a credit card, and fits nicely in a shirt pocket. You turn it on when the physician comes in and turn it off when you leave. The Plaud app the captures the recording, runs it through AI, and generates a report that is amazingly concise, complete and correct. And it picks up everything - even things I didn't hear clearly in the conversation with the doctor. Unfortunately, after a month it stopped working. But, again, good news! I contacted tech support, provided them with the serial number, and they sent me a new device which I'm now using. As good as any tech support I've ever dealt with. No hassles or hoops to jump through. I'm a happy user, and only wish I had some stock in the company!

The Plaud Note has completely changed how I handle meetings. I run a lot of them and have always struggled to take notes while staying engaged with clients. In the past, I’d jot down key points and later build out meeting minutes—but that process always left gaps in the details. Now, with the Plaud Note, I can capture everything effortlessly. I usually don’t replay entire meetings unless I’m double-checking a transcription, but it’s great knowing I can. I don’t use Plaud’s transcription service regularly—I prefer exporting the recordings and uploading them into AI tools like Perplexity or Gemini, which I already subscribe to. Both handle the content really well. That said, Plaud’s own transcription service is impressive when I use the free minutes—it organizes discussions clearly and makes review easy. If their paid plan were more affordable, I’d happily switch full-time. Until then, my hybrid approach works perfectly. Overall, it’s an excellent product that’s made my workflow far more efficient. On the other hand, the Plaud Pin hasn’t been as reliable. Its recordings are inconsistent and sometimes fail entirely. The Plaud Note, in contrast, has been rock solid since day one. Pro Tip: I use a faux leather PopSocket wallet (not the plastic one), which fits great with my iPhone 15 Pro and holds the Plaud Note securely. The included case didn’t fit as well and had weaker magnets, so this has been a much better solution.

This recorder works so well and has fantastic additional features. I love that I can use it on my phone calls or as a regular recorder. The sound qualities is excellent. I especially love the transcription options. I work very well and I love being able to put in who the speakers are and have it automatically assign them. I would say the accuracy rate is 95% or higher.

The Plaud Note AI Voice Recorder is excellent for what it does., which is record your meetings, lectures, etc and then apply AI to extract the most important information from that recording and present it to you in a variety of ways. To do this it uses prebuilt templates (you can do your own). You can get a summary, a todo list, and qualitative analysis, and so forth. I connects to real AI advanced pattern matching engines to do this. It can be a true time saver for sales people, I.T. people (me), students, administrators, or anyone needing to retain important information from a meeting. You get 5 hours a month for FREE. There are subscription plans offering minutes or unlimited if your needs require it. I was truly amazed. The one thing that caused me angst is it will not record a call, or a phone meeting if you are using a bluetooth headset. and that was the killer for me, as I do use one with ANC because my work environment can be noisy. I understand that Plaud is working to solve this and when they do, I will be a customer. For everyone else it is the quickest, most accurate way to retain the results of meetings, lectures etc. Sound quality is superb. You can play the sound file if you wish to do so. and the Plaud can record hours of meetings on a single charge. There are more positives than I can cover here. With the exception of the bluetooth headset inconvenience, highly recommended. Unfortunately the headset thing meant I had to return mine.

The subscription fee is tied to using OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s APIs, which isn’t free for anyone. It’s the cost of doing business in the AI world, and honestly, for what this recorder can do, it’s worth it. You’re not paying Plaud to sit on a yacht somewhere; you’re paying to keep their tech talking to the AI brains that make this thing awesome. Functionality: My Meeting MVP This little guy has become my meeting MVP. I don’t even bother taking notes anymore—I just let my trusty PLAUD handle it all. It listens, transcribes, and even summarizes, so I don’t have to. The best part? It’s accurate. No more second-guessing what I thought I heard someone say three slides ago. I get home with a full transcription and a summary that’s usually better organized than my own brain. Portability and Design It’s compact, it comes with a nice little case, and it’s so easy to carry around that I forget it’s even there until I need it. It feels like having a superpower—“Oh, you said that? Don’t worry, I’ve got the receipts.” It’s also easy to control through the app, which is intuitive and smooth. Overall Quality The transcription quality is top-notch, and it handles even fast talkers and mumblers pretty well. (Looking at you, Dave from accounting.) Plus, the app integration is seamless, and the ability to summarize long recordings is such a huge time-saver. Final Thoughts If you’re on the fence because of the subscription fee, let me ask you this: Is your time worth it? For me, the answer is yes. This recorder has saved me hours of manual note-taking and post-meeting confusion. So stop blaming Plaud for what’s essentially the price of using cutting-edge AI tech, and enjoy your new best friend. You won’t regret it—unless you say something you don’t want transcribed.

Game changer. I keep it attached to my iPhone with the MagSafe magnet, and the slim design looks just like a battery pack. It records really well, and the subscription has been worth it. I’ve captured meetings on the go, the battery lasts a long time, sound quality is solid, and the instructions were easy to follow. The button gives a quick vibration when it’s activated and again when you turn it off, and the in‑ear call feature works exceptionally well. I love this thing.

As somebody with a visual impairment, the fact that this device has no screen doesn’t bother me. Nor does the price. I realize that some people may balk at the $79 per year asking price for the pro plan. As somebody who has historically had to rely on specialist devices for the blind that cost easily $500, even with that $79 per year plan, this thing is a bargain. While I am giving it five stars, there is something I should make note of. I have enough usable vision where I don’t necessarily need to use speech all the time. Thus, for my needs, the device app is more than adequate. However, for those that do use speech all the time, and might be considering this, I should warn you that the apps accessibility with the VoiceOver screen reader on the iPhone is passable, but you’ll need to sit down and learn it because not everything is labeled properly. Nor are you able to navigate your summary by headings. The mind map is an inaccessible image with no alt text. These are suggestions that I’ve passed along to the development team and since it’s on the software side, these things could be easily implemented overtime, so let’s hope that they get implemented. For those of you who are wondering if it is worth the cost? My personal belief is that it is because this way you will save wear and tear on your phone’s battery, you won’t have to worry about constantly monitoring your screen to make sure the phone doesn’t go to sleep, plus the ChatGPT transcription features are superior to what Apple Intelligence does, especially when it comes to the summary. The device itself is really awesome. It’s about the size of two credit cards and at the very top is a concave round button to the left of which is a vertically oriented two position switch. That two position switch is what will swap between regular note dictation mode and phone call dictation mode The button is utilized to start and stop recordings. Beyond that, everything else is done in the app. On the back, and you might need to find it, at the bottom, you will find an oval with four round circles in it. This is your charging port. To make things easier to find I would highly recommend putting it in the included leather case. Another really neat feature about the case is the fact that it can magnetically clip to the back of your phone using MagSafe. The battery in this thing is incredible and so far the summarization through chat, GPT has been fantastic. I plan to use this at a conference in a couple of months and I’ve already used it at a webinar for my work. I really hope the development continues on this because this is very promising.
