DSD TECH SH-G01L USB Isolator Supports USB 2.0 480Mbps High Speed Isolation

This is a great USB isolator. I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 1st Gen. It connects to my computer with a noisy Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. When I'm playing games, I can hear the horrible electrical interference any time I have any outputs (namely the monitor outputs that I'm using) on the 18i20 connected to my Ashly LX-308B (a stereo, balanced line level mixer) that I use for listening to my PC, Xbox, and monitoring the audio interface. Therefore, I'd have to disconnect my audio interface's audio outputs when I played PC games, so I wasn't even given the choice to be able to monitor anything on the 18i20. I'd have to use another DAC to listen to the games. This wasn't a dealbreaker but was very annoying. Enter this isolator. It just plugs in, needs no extra power, and eliminates all of the noise. It's essential and works without any issues. It's also the cheapest option out there, so I'm very happy with it. If you're trying to do software defined radio USB, do not get this. The isolator chip in it will not perform well for radio. For 99% of users, you won't care about that (I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw a bad review on this), and you will have no issues with it. The 400 mA may not be enough for the hungriest of devices, but you can use this with a USB hub so that your device can get galvanic isolation from the PC but still get the data. I've never had noise issues from USB-IF compliant USB 2.0 hubs. I can confirm that it's a nonissue for the AC powered 18i20, though. 400 mA is already way more than what the competitors offer for more money. You do not need the 100-dollar ones that claim 32-bit 768 kHz. Just get this.

What you need to know: - Perfect Signal Integrity: Unlike older ADUM3160-based isolators that capped performance at basic USB 1.1 speeds, this unit handles true USB 2.0 High-Speed (480 Mbps). It easily passes bit-perfect high-resolution streams, including native DSD and high-sample-rate PCM files, without a single hitch. - Completely Transparent to the OS: It requires absolutely zero drivers and operates purely at the physical hardware layer. My computer and the FiiO ASIO control panels see the DAC directly, meaning the isolator is completely invisible to the operating system. - Zero Volume Drops: Because it isolates the lines properly without introducing arbitrary inline resistance to the audio path, my DAC's analog output voltage remained perfectly unchanged. The Sonic Result: - Don't expect an artificial EQ boost or bloated bass. I bought this because my audio interface had a constant buzzing/electrical noise whenever it was connected to my desktop PC over USB. I tried different USB ports, different cables, and plugging the interface directly into the computer, but nothing fixed it. The biggest clue was that the noise disappeared when I connected the interface to a laptop or powered it separately from a battery bank. I put this isolator between my PC and audio interface, and the noise was completely gone. Not quieter, completely gone. I also wanted to mention this because some reviews make it sound like the product is defective if an audio interface stops working or disconnects when connected through it. Depending on the interface, that can simply be a power issue. Some larger or higher-power USB interfaces may require additional power on the isolated side, so you may need a separate power adapter or powered connection depending on your setup. My current interface is able to get enough power through this without anything additional, so for me it was completely plug-and-play. It may not be the prettiest-looking device, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. If you have buzzing, humming, whining, or other noise from a USB audio interface that disappears when you use a laptop or another power source, this is absolutely worth trying. It completely solved my problem.

I see people complaining that it's making their dac drop off and stuff....dude... Do some googling....this thing outputs 400ma of power. if your dac needs more and doesn't have it's own power supply of course it's going to cause drops. for my dac it works perfectly! no more buzzing noises from my PC! Schiit used to make a product called the wyrd aka usb decrapifier - but it was too big and too complicated. This thing works simply as a small plug in. Connect and forget. Also it uses the ADUM3165 chip. IYKYK. You can spend a lot more for a usb isolator and not get anymore benefit. So for me this was the best choice on the market. 10/10!

This solved the grounding issue between my PC and CNC plasma table that kept the torch from firing.

PROS: Eliminated GPU buzz during gaming! I have a schiit modi 3 DAC and schiit lyr amp (1 or 2, idk). I was hearing a buzz, thinking it was the amp, but noticed it was only in games, I thought maybe just the game had a horrible noise floor, but no, it turned out to be picking up my graphics card (I muted game audio in settings(tried this in multiple games) and moved mouse around, the buzz frequency would change based on the graphical intensity of what I was looking at(i.e. boring sky, or busy wildlife)). I thought a dedicated DAC should eliminate this ground looping?? But maybe it is just the DAC being older, or maybe because I'm using a UPS?? Not sure, anyways, the audio is completely silent now, not even a hiss in my headphones. So, if you're in a similar situation, give this a try, much cheaper than buying a new DAC/Amp. HOWEVER, I did notice my audio was silent on a cheap usb to headphone and mic plug adapter, but that could not drive my planar dynamic headphones that well, even at 100% volume, game was barely at a comfortable audio. So if you're headphones are easy to drive, a cheaper usb dongle might be enough for you. CONS: This thing is ugly I guess? Very subjective though, some might like the retro see-through case. There's other dongle that look sleeker, sure, but the ones I found didn't seem worth it for how much more they cost.

I purchased this after noticing severe GPU interference on my audio interface. what I did not expect this product to do is remove ALL interference, and this is on a vintage STAX SRM-1 Fantastic product if you need a USB Isolator at an unbeatable price.

I've now tried several well-known various Hi-Fi brands of USB conditioners/denoiser devices over the past few years. Most have worked (from what I could tell). And in some cases, you really couldn't tell much of a difference. So I gave this DSD TECH SH-G01L Isolator a try, and yes, I could certainly tell a difference - but unfortunately, it was not for the better. Once connected (I purchased two of these), I assumed everything would be okay - but then my USB based DAC and digital decoder units would begin dropping in and out (sound-wise). In other words, when they dropped out and the music stopped, I checked my equipment list in Windows Device Manager, and wallaaaaa - they were not listed at all. Then magically, within a few seconds, the units would come back online again. And this process continued. At first, I had assumed that I did not connect the units properly, but all seemed fine. The moment I disconnected my DSD units from the various USB inputs, the sound returned to normal. No go figure? In the past when I used similar devices from iFi or Audioquest (and a few other well known brands), I never had these issues (dropping in and out), and they functioned superbly with improved sound characteristics. But these DSD units were a total bust, I'm afraid to say. So these units came as a total disappointment and for those folks looking for a better "mouse trap," I'd say to save your money and look elsewhere. Totally unsatisfied here.

Great product, works great. Used it to eliminate a high pitched noise in my HX Stomp guitar pedal. It always whined terribly in the audio path when connected to USB in my setup; dead silent now with USB connected. Very happy with this.

Get rid of the noise created by a groundloop completely, without breaking the bank compared to other solutions.

Estas interferencias pueden deberse a que algo en la configuración del equipo no está aislado como es debido, estas cuestiones hay que dejárselas a los técnicos, la cuestión es que ahora disfruto de un sonido limpio. Y si no te gusta éste en concreto puedes buscar otros de las mismas características y listo, que a mi no me paga nadie por este comentario. Pero al pan pan y al vino vino, ha eliminado ese sonido molesto e incómodo de fondo, enchufarlo y listo. Una maravilla, estoy encantado. En mi caso funciona.

I had a very annoying problem where scratchy background noise synchronized to on-screen movement on my displaylink monitors was making it into my USB digital-to-analog converter. I could wiggle a window on the screen and listen to the synchronised scratchy sounds through the speakers. So I put this in line with the digital-to-analog converter and wow, perfect silence, 100% fixed. A great audio tool to have in my toolbox.
