This is the only stuff to use!!!
Absolutely, this is it! There exists no other substitute! I ordered based on the picture, unaware that the bottle is half a liter. The entire roof of a BMW M6 was covered by that, which was all I needed. I should mention that my top was already in great condition. While there aren't any major dry spots, there is a slight fading. Regardless, I settled on 500 ml and it was sufficient with approximately 5 oz of product remaining for touch-up or safety. The top needs to be properly cleaned and stripped of any repellent or spray wax (which should never be used on a soft top). My method of cleaning involved using 303 top cleaner and a medium-density brush. I utilized the entire bottle of cleaner. To start, rinse the top with a little water. I discovered that the cleaner is more effective on a damp top than a dry one. Saturate the entire top and allow the product to sit for 15 minutes. Use the brush to work the cleaner product into the top. It took me around half an hour to cover every centimeter with some hard work. Rinse the third product until all the cleaner has run off. Use a chamois to dry the additional water, and let the vehicle sit overnight to dry. Next day, 1st go over the top with a handheld lint brush and get as much of the loose fibers left behind or from sitting overnight. 2nd tape off any trim, not necessary to go crazy with coverings ie newspaper, plastic etc... 3rd using a 2/12 inch brush(do yourself a favor and get a better quality stain brush) apply the product working from the center of the top outward. I discovered 2ftx2ft sections made for better application, and accounting of how much product i was using. not going to lye, i was worried about running out of product. * use a step ladder to get better stroke positioning. I found that working in the garage with a shop light worked best, as it allowed me to see actual coverage with each stroke of the brush. I was able to do the entire top with two successful passes and still have about 5oz of product left over for touch up after the 3 hr minimum drying time. i noticed a rich velvet appearance immediately. but that was only because i was methodical with application, easy application when you take your time. 500ml will do two coatings on an 2018 M6, 640, 650 top this includes extra dye on the seams, edges and good deal of saturation overall. i don't recommend applying this outside in the elements as it will be more difficult to see overlap of strokes. A high quality stain or dye brush will work better. And no, you cannot use a foam roller!! the brush will work into the nook and crannies better. use 303 top cleaner, Ive been using this stuff for decades and it is far superior to anything else I've ever used. wait i wouldn't apply a sealer right away. I waited 30 days to do so. Good luck

It gets sucked in like when you paint a house with thirsty ...
It does not give a deep black shiny look. I painted it onto the top of a lincoln town car with a full cloth top with a sunroof. One whole bottle went to the first coat. It gets sucked in like when you paint a house with thirsty wood. Second coat and third coats took one additional bottle. It does not make small scratches disappear and only made a marginal improvement. If I had to do it again I would get a price from a professional auto upholstery place. Update- I did 6 coats on my town car. It took 2 1/2 bottles. The last three coats were applied with a paint roller used for trim work (6in long by 1in round). Now the top looks shinny and new. It applied evenly as more coats went on and covered the scratches as well.

Worked Great for Me
I have never been tempted to write an Amazon review before, but upon reading the ones here, I feel like it is in order. The product worked absolutely perfectly for me and my convertible top looks more or less brand new. You have to follow the instructions, though. It is absolutely imperative to wash the top first with a product designed to remove not just dirt but oil, mold, and other contaminates. I did this twice with a power washer and brush with moderately stiff bristles using a product I got for $8 or so at a local car parts store. A couple days later, I washed it again before applying the Renovo. If the surface is not clean and free of contaminates, you are going to get a patchy look because it can't absorb properly. I applied the product with a 2 inch brush overlapping the strokes a little from the center to the side IN SHADE. Again, if you do it in direct sunlight, you will not get good results. When it dried, I did it again and touched up areas that needed it. When it was dried, I treated it with Scotchgard (again from the auto store) and that was it. So . . . takes several hours and you have to apply it methodically and with care (i.e. slowly), but it works great. If you can't make that kind of time or have that kind of patience, take it to a pro or get someone else to do it. However, for a total of about $50 and maybe 4-5 hours of work, my 10 year old car looks new (well, at least the top does.)

Highly, highly recommended
Truly an amazing product. I have a super aged and worn out dark blue top on a BMW and this stuff revived it back to life. I was originally a bit sceptical but decided to go ahead and try it out anyways. Not only I no longer see the hideous blue (went from dark blue to black), but it gave the car a much needed facelift. I highly recommend it

It’s not that good . The black coverage is faded looking.

Very good black ragtop dye
Very good black ragtop dye, easy to apply, easy to clean up. Looks very good, almost like new on my 2010 SAAB.

Good product
Great product! Be sure to check price, some sellers are selling the 500ml for more than you can buy the 1l size for. I made the mistake.
