Will not "Scan to Computer" Totally rubbish. Terrible HP support.
Do you want to run this on the Apple IOS? Do you want to use the "Scan to Computer" function?Forget it.I have spent 6 hours on this and nothing scans.I have had HP support do all manner of driver uploads and restarts and reinstalls. HP could get the Macbook Pro to see the printer but NOT THE HP PRINTER TO SEE THE MAC. I mean they did everything and ran out of ideas. So they then sent me to Apple and Virgin Media.I spoke to Apple and all drivers were there and the Mac could see the HP Printer.I went back to HP. They sent me to Virgin Media to open 12 ports.Virgin media did as asked by HP.Ports opened. No scan from computer.I am disheartened to think that I could spend any more time on this printer.I am asking for a full refund and I'm ditching HP.

Not good for photo printing
This is the most annoying and frustrating printer I have ever owned - on several occasions I have felt like throwing it across the room! It constantly tells me that the paper tray is empty (when it is not), it jams paper, it picks up more than one sheet at a time (sometimes as many as four at a time) but the worst thing about it is that it just will not print photos properly. I don't know how much ink or how many pieces of photo paper I have wasted trying to get it to print properly - sometimes it just prints a small section of the photo, other times, it goes through all the motions and makes all the usual noises of printing but then throws out a blank piece of paper. I am totally mystified by it. The print quality isn't wonderful either for photos and it does seem to use a lot of ink. I bought this to replace my Canon inkjet that broke, but I will be ditching this one and going back to Canon, I'm afraid. On the plus side though, it is an ok scanner and photocopier and is fine for printing A4 documents, as long as you can put up with the multiple page pick-up, etc. But if you are looking for something that will print quality photos aswell, then I would recommend looking elsewhere.

A real shame! .....but now gone with a different HP model
Easy to set up, nice touchscreen display and decent functions....BUT...I had no end of problems trying to get it to print consistent pictures - colours were all over the place, sometimes pink sometimes red. I had to run multiple test pages to try to get the proper colour output just to print a single picture. I don't know if this was a faulty print head or cartridge or what (seemed that the yellow one was originally the problem, but a replacement didn't work any better). A real shame as my previous HP PSC 2179 had lasted over 10 years so I wanted to replace with the latest HP equivalent. Returned it and still trying to work out what to get as all printers seem to be prone to adverse reviews for all number of reasons.Update 20 Jul 2016 - Purchased an HP Envy 5640 about 6 months ago and works really well for me so far - like my old HP PCS 2179 it has just 2 cartridges (black and colour) so whilst it may not be the most efficient use of colour ink, compared with all separate cartridges, it actually does what it is supposed to and prints proper colours!

O.K but could be better.
It does make sounds like the uprise of the machines is starting, but has worked well for me so far. I've printed normal paper, t-shirt transfer paper, card and shrink dink plastic and it has coped well with all of those. Tried a photo out of curiosity and am very pleased with that function. The colours are a little on the pale side but I can probably play around with that somehow if I wanted. Connected with my mac no problems at all, which was the main reason I chose this printer, so very happy that it was effortless to install. Scanner works fine. Have not yet used the copy function but I'm sure it will be fine too. Overall very happy with my purchase!Update: This thing eats ink! Mine is always low on ink. I put new ink in and maybe 5 uses later I'm getting ink low warnings. I've only bough the specified HP inks for this and I hardly print in colour. When I do it's always the economy option so I'm not very impressed with it's ink usage. It feels like the starter ink the printer came with actually had more in it than the full cartridges you have to buy. They lasted much longer. I'm also disappointed with the scan option too. It's stopped scanning properly. It won't scan a whole image, just bits of the image which is very annoying. I used the scanner about 3 times prior to this happening. Reducing to 3 stars.

Not an enjoyable experience!
I have had HP printers before which is why I went for this one but it was a disappointment. This particular one had a fault and wouldn't print more than 3 pages at a time and then just cancelled the print job, but even if it had worked I still would only give ot two stars. It had a cheap build quality, rattled, made some worrying noises at times when you wouldn't expect it to and paused printing in the middle of each page (which I'm sure you'd get used to but it was driving me crakers.) And it was very slow.Having said all that, set up was very easy, it found the wifi straight away and connected - no problems there. However it had to go back and now I am the happy owner of an Epson - same price, better build quality and it works!!
