Is it possible to attach an iPhone to the stand?

You cannot attach an iPhone or smartphone to the CS 320 Small Copy Stand "out of the box". You would need a phone case that has a standard camera mount screw socket to fix it to the mount of the CS 320 Small Copy Stand.

Is the top knob removable to access the top screw? I'd like to put a little ball tripod head but I don't know if it's possible (directly or c-mount)

The top screws has a 6M thread not the 1/4-20 thread used on cameras and tripods. If you try to attach a tripod head within one rotation the head becomes cross threaded.

Is this product supposed to come with a nut to secure the stand to the wooden base? Mine didn’t but luckily I had a nut that fit.

The CS 320 Small Copy Stand should come with a nut and washer to secure the column to the base board. If it is not present, you should contact the supplier for those parts. This may have been a mistake by the manufacturer when packing the goods and subsequently missed by the quality control department.
