Q: Is this fan a static pressure fan? I need to replace my noisy corsair h80i stock fans and was told that I need static pressure fans for water coolers

This is a airflow optimized fan, not for use on higher Fins per inch (FPI) radiators. However, I have them on my low FPI radiators and they perform exceptionally well. I'm using Alphacool rads that have an FPI of ~8. Anything higher than that you want to use Static Pressure fans like the Noctua NF-F12 PWM or its brother, the NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM. The reason I supplied PWM models is because the Corsair H80i uses PWM to regulate the RPM of the fans, meaning you need a 4-pin connection. If you get a fan without PWM (with a 3-pin connection or 4-pin MOLEX), then your fans will not allow you to regulate the RPM unless you have a voltage regulator in the setup. At which point you would need a manual override and would not be able to use the Corsair H80i software. Hope this helps.
