Budget-friendly IEMs with light V-shaped sound signature
The Truthear Gate IEMs are budget-friendly in-ear monitors priced around $20. They feature a 10mm dynamic driver with a carbon LCP diaphragm. I feel these have a comfortable fit, good tonal balance (aligned with Harman target tuning), and clean sound quality. While not exceptional in technical performance, they are should be considered a solid choice for their price range. The Truthear Gate IEMs have a light V-shaped sound signature. This means they offer a slight emphasis on the bass and treble regions, while maintaining a relatively neutral midrange. The sub-bass is enhanced, adding depth and a touch of fun, while the midrange remains clean and spacious with a hint of brightness in the upper mids. The treble is inoffensive, providing clarity and detail without being harsh. Here's a breakdown: - Driver: 10mm dynamic driver with a carbon LCP diaphragm. - Sound Signature: Light V-shaped, with enhanced sub-bass, clean mids, and smooth treble. - Frequency Response: 10 Hz to 45 kHz. - Impedance: 28Ω, making them easy to drive. - Sensitivity: 122 dB, ensuring good volume levels even with low-power sources. - Build: Clear acrylic faceplates with a lightweight design for comfort. - Cable: Detachable 2-pin 0.78mm OFC cable. - Accessories: Includes six pairs of silicone eartips and a vinyl carrying pouch. The Truthear Gate IEMs are a budget-friendly option with a solid set of features and performance. I feel they have a good clarity and detail retrieval, though the treble can feel slightly dry, and the lower mids may lack some body.

Great V-shape budget IEM
Great value for the money; Treble is maybe a hair forward. Bsss is clean and present without being overdone, but slightly splattering on Self Love and a little muddy on GTIG. Slight occlusion effect with silence. Good reproduction and detail; a tiny bit of warble on the treble on some tracks. Good right-to left soundstage, no rotation. Great male vocals, female too. Both stand out with the mids and have correct timbre. Layer seperation is good, not great. I really like the ways these look, with the unconventional transparent shell They feel like cheap plastic, and the cable is strangely plasticky if reasonably nicely braided for this price point. Overall, nice unit for $20.

includes a lot of tips and a nice practical case
They sound amazing, arrives in nice package with all size tips, the wire is fine but reading reviews I replaced with the tripowin and I think is more comfortable than the original ones, has a very nice and practical case with magnetic closing

A new Legend is Born
These are the GATE v3s, half the price of the v2, which was already almost half the price of the v1. They've hit that price to performance mark not seen since the legendary ZSN-HiFis of 2010, with all the comforts and features of 2020 IEMs. They're the ideal starter IEMs out of the box, just open and use. Start your audio journey HERE! The ear tip support is crazy out of the box. 6 pairs of soft silicone tips ranging from bunny ears to cavernous ears. You WILL find a tip that fits you in the box. It also comes with a lovely, faux leather pouch with a spring closure (which can be hard to use if you're not 2 handed.) I bought the Black "with mic" version for $2 more, and the cable is itself as good as 3rd party cables that cost as much as the entire set. Fairly durable, long enough to use at a desk without being too long for daily use with a smartphone or DAP, soft rubberized touch with a twist braid that dangles like a shoelace. Perfected cost optimization. Even better? Fully featured inline controls, Android tapdance compatibility, and an iron/aluminum Y-split. This means the entire thing can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. Not done raving yet, they seem to be BELOW 18 Ohms, meaning theu'll run out of anything with a 3.5mm jack (I do mean anything, I tried them with one of those DIY AM radio science kits, still worked). I can see myself buying a few sets to give out to friends curious about the world of enthusiast audio as a starter set. My ONLY complaint is that if your ears are sensitive to treble they might be uncomfortable for gaming, but that's not an advertised use case anyway.

Amazing sound and fit
I’m really impressed with these IEMs. The sound quality is better than I expected for the price, clear and detailed. They also come with extra ear tips, which made it easy to find a comfortable, snug fit. The packaging also felt premium and high-quality. I would recommend them.

Great IEM for the price
I got these to use at work since I needed a cheap IEM without a metal shell and these work great. They are very lightweight, but they fit just fine for my ears with larger ear tips. The sound is a bit on the brighter side, but I prefer that anyway. I have heard other reviewers praise the wire but that's what I don't like about these. The wire is thick, but feels very cheap. One of the earhooks on my pair was also not shaped properly and I had to heat it up and bend it back in shape. Other than that, I have no issue with these so far

There’s not much to say here. To get an IEM this clean sounding at this low price would be almost incredible if the measurements would not back it up. First, its response is pretty well matched to the Harman curve. Second, its group delay is really clean. And last, its distortion across the whole audible spectrum is vanishingly low at 104 dBSPL and even at an ear damaging 114 dBSPL. This is astounding performance for any headphones, let alone for ones this inexpensive. If you wonder why this matters the answer is rather simple: they sound rather good out of the box but you can also modify its EQ via DSP to match your liking quite easily. That low distortion means you can really push any tortured EQ curves with impunity. I use them on my desktop running JRiver via a Topping D50s DAC and a NAD preamp and on my iPhone running Foobar App via a Fosi DS2 DAC/ Amp. Both JRiver and Foobar have some form of DSP implementation which I used to tailor the sound of these headphones exactly to my liking. In the end this is a remarkable product I’m glad I purchased. The plastic construction is adequate however the wires could be longer. The included silicon tips are OK but I found Comply foam tips which I prefer as they fit well, isolate better (essential for getting good sound) and are more comfortable to wear for longer listening sessions/ running/ working out. Recommended 100%
