For the price, these glosses are a steal! These glosses are heavily pigmented so that, once applied, it looks like a lipstick covered with gloss. It feels sticky for the first minute but then just feels moisturized for the next hour or so afterwards. They last for a long time and a year later, I haven't noticed a change in texture (although the SPF probably fades after that amount of time). I wish there were more colors. These are part of my SPF arsenal to prevent a second skin cancer. After my first cancer, my dermatologist reminded me that I need sunscreen EVERYWHERE, including my lips. After having a tumor removed from my forehead, I don't even want to imagine what the lip experience would be like. It's not easy to find lipsticks or glosses with SPF. I would have paid so much more to protect my kisser and was delighted to find these at such an inexpensive price. I tried the Brush On Block spf block, which costs almost 3 times the e.l.f. version, and I actually feel like this one has more staying power, pigment, and moisture for soft lips. This was a big win for me.

I was super excited to see this new product from ELF! I ordered this in "That's My Jam". I only just received it today and tested it immediately. Here's my first impression: COLOR: I had expected this to be a bit more of a cool berry tone, but I'd describe this as more of a dark rich burgundy color. The color tone is warmer and richer than I'd expected. From the name I was expecting a jammy berry color. It is probably the iron oxides warming the color palate, and I'm ok with that, given how hard and long I have been hunting for a lip SPF that I can use. Iron oxides are important filters, so I like having them included in this product. Because this is darker than expected, I'm wishing I'd gone with the Mauve color instead of the Jam. If this didn't have the fragrance in it, I'd likely want to buy this in all of the colors. FRAGRANCE: I am really disappointed with ELF's choice to add fragrance to this. The 'coconut' smell reminds me of the Hawiian style suntan oil we used as kids. That was back when they actually sold products with 'SPF 2', lol. And, sadly, we used those oils to roast ourselves in the sun. Anyway, I didn't buy this for a trip down memory lane, and I don't want to smell like the beach when I use a lip product. I'd greatly prefer if this had no fragrance. I want lip protection every day, every time I go outside, and I don't want fragrance on my lips on a daily basis. I was really annoyed with this fragrance when I first applied, but I adjusted quickly. I hope that the fragrance faded away, rather than the alternative, which is that I become nose blind to it. I really don't want to walk around smelling like the beach, regardless of whether or not the smell is annoying me personally. Furthermore, I am very sensitive to fragrances, and I know lots of other people are too. Fragrances can trigger headaches in me regardless of whether I like the smell, and whether I have become nose blind to it. I hope ELF will hear feedback and remove the fragrance. TASTE: There is no real sunscreen flavor, and I am most thankful for that! It did not leave a bad taste in my mouth, or fill my mouth with flavor or aroma. That is a big win for this product, but I do taste the fragrance upon first application. I don't want that. When I am on my morning commute, drinking my coffee, I want some lip spf, but I don't want to taste tropical coconut. I am tempted to remove another star for this, but did not because the flavor does not linger in my mouth. Still, ELF, please remove the fragrance! APPLICATION: Yes! This is easy enough to use. It has more potent coverage, and is more pigmented than I expected. It feels good on my lips. It does not feel sticky like I'd expect a gloss to feel, and the color is even and smooth looking. FORMULA: I ordered this as soon as I read that this is a mineral formula with no 'chemical' filters, and it has none of the ingredients I actively avoid and am sensitive to. I am so glad this doesn't have jojoba in the ingredients! Most lip sunscreens do. A lot of people don't realize that some of us are sensitive to jojoba. I learned by years of trial and error. After eliminating jojoba (among other things) from my products, I no longer get chapped lips. Anyway, this product feels good, creamy and comfortable on my lips, so far. I will update if I get any irritation. It stayed on a while, and apparently, this is also water resistant! I am thrilled that ELF has produced this product. I have spent countless hours hunting for a mineral, jojoba-free, lip SPF. I really hope ELF will remove the fragrance and develop more colors!

I'm a medium-dark skin tone (Nars Tahoe for reference), and I got the shade That's My Jam. It's a really beautiful mid-tone berry shade that gives a "my lips but better" effect. I was pleasantly surprised by the gloss: it's not too sticky or goopy, not too heavy, and it feels nourishing on the lips. To me, it almost feels like a hybrid between a traditional lip gloss, a lip oil, and a liquid lipstick. I wish Elf would come out with deeper shades, but until then, I'll happily repurchase the one I have.

I realized the lip balm I was using did not have SPF protection. This color was intriguing yet neutral so I purchased it Since I live in Florida, I always want to protect my lips. I've had some issues in the past. This is a great color to wear during the day if you're just running errands but don't want to look made up. It also goes over my Matte lipstick to give it a little tiny shine. I particularly concentrate it in the middle of my upper and lower lip to give that area a little more "bling, but do apply it all over. it's not the longest wearing lipgloss. so I carry it on my pockets (always have pockets) to re-apply. The applicator is also so easy to use! I am Extremely happy with color, applicator, and amount of glow . It could stay on a little longer on lip, it's not the longest wearing lipstick but when you have a lipstick or lip gloss that goes on very easily and creamy, the rule of thumb it's not going to last as long as something that is drier .

Beautiful color, and love the idea of a gloss AND an SPF in one. Unfortunately, the color only lasts for less than an hour, even with no drinking or eating. It just fades. It feels nice. It’s more like an SPF lip balm with a pop of color for when initially applied. For just SPF balm with no color, I would get a $2-4 balm, not waste money on this, which ends up being a $2 balm in less than an hour. Wish they would make this with lasting color, at least for a few hours?

An SPF 25 lip gloss with no perfume, no bad taste, no bad smell, feels good on lips, moisturizing and looks good! This is very very hard to find. Elf products are just so well thought out, low priced, and great quality. I have sensitive skin, and am sensitive to fragrances. This does have a light smell of coconut oil but it isn’t noticeable after about a minute of wear. If you are sensitive to coconut oil then it might not work. Also it has a creamy opaque texture a bit like a lipstick with moist (but not loud) sheen, but the colour is wearable for casual every day (my skin tone is fair/warm). Doesn’t look like I am wearing makeup as it is fairly close to my lip colour. Does not suck the moisture out if your lips later like many lip glosses do. I have put one in my purse and one in the dog’s satchel. I have not yet tried it in the sun so I cannot report on its spf effectiveness but I highly recommend it for ticking every other box.

Mycket nöjd med produkt! Fin färg, luktar supergott och smakar inte äckligt. Tror inte att den varar länge eftersom den är en gloss, men för priset är kvalitet bra.

Light fragrance that does not irritate my lips. Medium opacity, very flattering shade (grey mauve) on my medium brown olive-toned skin. Moisturizing. I would definitely repurchase. The spf in this is a mineral one, which is hard to find. I prefer this over chemical lip sunscreens because the latter usually make my lips prickle with irritation.
