I got this to help me reset some codes for some DIY maintenance. I changed by oil and rear brakes on my BMW X5 and this tool help me easily reset the codes. These codes needed to be reset before I was able to pass my yearly inspection. This OBD2 scanner was fairly simple to setup and use to read codes. Since I am not a mechanic some of the data is a little cryptic for me. But having the ability to look up the error codes with this tool and researching it before bringing it to a garage to fix empowers me to be more confident when speaking to a mechanic about any issues I have with my car.
