will this fit a 2001 Sahara ?

Yes it should fit fine. There is no difference between the 2001 and 2002 Jeep TJ (AKA the Wrangler). The Sahara edition just had more upgrades (like matching fender flares to the color of the Jeep) over some of the base model Wranglers. Hope this helps! Chad

Does the net change air flow inside the jeep? More or less turbulence?

anything slower than 85 mph on my 2000 Jeep Sahara, with 33.5 " tires, 3" lift, it's flapping around.

Will I need a windshield Chanel? My 05 rubicon is a hardtop.

yes you purchase the cheaper one but I don't think you'll be happy with the look. I purchase the more expensive one it gives a roll look like my full soft top.
