Seriously, this is ridiculously expensive! WalMart is .88 for 32 oz!!!

can it be used on ear canal?

Absolutely. I have been using it for years when mine or my children's ears start to hurt due to colds, etc. It definitely fizzles in your ears but I don't mind it. It helps a lot with healing the ears. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it is safe to use.
