The Complete Chilli Pepper Book: A Gardener's Guide to Choosing, Growing, Preserving, and Cooking

Fantastic book on growing chillis. Lots of info on varieties, history, how to grow etc. I would have liked more on the diseases and deficiencies chillis can suffer from, along with more detailed pictures in this section, but that's a minor complaint.

If you are interested in the history and the many varieties of Chile peppers this book is for you. It is well illustrated and gives good detailed information for Chile growing and their use in the kitchen.

I gave this book as a gift. The recipient really liked it. It has helpful sections on harvesting, freezing, canning and lots of recipes. Overall, a good book with a decent selection of photos.

Great book, tells you everything you need to know about chillies.

This book tells you just about all you need to know about growing all sorts of different chilies, also some good recipes for your produce, with the added bonus of instructions for making chutneys and jams etc,.

Gift for my husband who loves growing and eating chillies! Great tips in there and some recipes for chilli jam :)

I really wanted to like this book, and it's quite comprehensive, but it will be more useful to growers who are based in the US and warmer climates than the UK.

Das Buch bietet einen hervorragenden Überblick über die Artenvielfalt und die Unterscheidung der Unterarten (z.B. Capsicum Annuum, Capsicum Chinense, etc.). Auch auf den Anbau wird umfangreich eingegangen und u.a. die Bereiche Sortenauswahl, Anzucht, Kultur in Topf und Freiland, sowie Probleme und Krankheiten ausführlichst erläutert. Ebenso sind diverse Rezepte zur Verwendung der hoffentlich reichen Ernte enthalten. Neben dem Buch von Harald Zoschke ("Das Chili Pepper Buch"), für mich ein absolutes Muss für Chili Fans und solche die es noch werden wollen. Die englische Sprache muss nicht abschrecken, das Buch ist absolut verständlich geschrieben und mit vielen Bildern illustriert. Klare Empfehlung!

Was so excited to get this book! I sat down to peruse and next thing you know a few hours had elapsed. I do own another pepper book, which is mainly a cookbook. But this, is on an entire new level. Currently, my garden has about 10 types of peppers, and I'm looking to expand. This book has helped me identify problems and illnesses that ail pepper plants, as well as provides recipes, techniques for preparing and storing peppers and dried spices. It gives a great description of over 100 peppers. The pictures are close up and beautiful. If I had to say something negative about this book, it would be that only some descriptions give Scoville ratings, others do not. My other book that has a handy graph that I use to look up Scoville ratings, which helps me decide if I want to purchase that type of pepper plant. There are so many types of peppers, and only a fraction of them are listed in either of my books, so if you want a tome that covers varieties exhaustively, this is not the book.

AS advertised. Great book for the chili lover.
