There are no magnetics on the pieces as advertised, and the checker pieces have no wool pads. It's a matter of time to scratch the whole board.

This is a nice solid wood chess/checkers set with two drawers that are so spacious I was able to put two sets of chess and checkers pieces in there. For the price you won't find anything better. The drawers are held to the frame with a magnet instead of drawer slides so they can be easily taken out.I would have given it 5 stars except the picture description says magnetic chess pieces but they are not. Other than that still a great set for what I paid.

Like the board and the drawers however I think the chess pieces could be a little bigger. Also they didn’t include the checkers pieces instead we got two sets of brown chess pieces, but they did offer return and/or partial refund.
