In terms of protecting your hands from heat these things are awesome. I can grab my cast iron dutch oven out of my 350 degree oven and hold it basically forever without feeling the heat. HOWEVER the Neoprene seems to suffer damage each time I use them at oven temperatures. After use, for even a short period, the Neoprene often appears slightly melted with small tears at where it was bent against the pot/pan. It would be nice if the Neoprene had a layer of cloth over it for protection. As it is, while they do work well, I suspect that they won't last as long as I'd like.

Love the shape, size, pocket for hands and the actually heat resistant backing! I had a pair of these for some 5years and I spent as long long time looking for a replacement set until finally - finally!!! - I found these again. I tried many different types of pot holders over the years trying to get a good grip and they just couldn't be found! Either they don't have pockets - dumb, are just fabric - not heat-resistant. These are the only ones I've found in years that are so practical and functional. And the color does luckily go with my kitchen as well. If I'd change anything it would only be maybe more color/print/fabric options, but that's the ONLY change I'd make. These are perfect.

These would work well as a trivet or maybe for lifting large pots but they have very little flex. Trying to grab a pot lid top or a pot handle is very difficult especially the lids. Some reviewers have mentioned that washing them will soften them up, but I gave up before trying that. I have found that the potholders that have one side silicone instead of neoprene have a lot more flex and are more versatile and easier to use.

Excellent product. They protect from heat well and are the best oven safe product I've bought in years. I bought two more for someone else given how effective they are.

I usually like silicone products, but I'm not sure why the heat comes through these when taking items out of the oven. I didn't want to risk a burn, so got rid of them
