I recieved my package today and just tried it out for the first time . For the purposes of providing a frame of reference let's say that shaving with a traditional cartridge razor is 100% in terms of a smooth shave. Let's also say that the best an electric razor can possibly get is 98%. The Dome Shaver Pro is a 98% so as far as electric razors go I feel like it's as close as it can possibly be. This is my #1 criteria for grading an electic razor so in that regard it's a win and a good buy. It feels solid and well made but it's too early to evaluate reliability. In addition to it providing a very close shave it also got the job done faster and more efficiently than the other razors I've tried. This is another big win for Manscape. It feels a little different on the head than what I’m used to but I quickly got used to the different (more stiff?) feel . All I ask for is a shave that's close and quick. it does both of those things well. I didn't have any cuts or razor burn so no complaints. I use Lectric shave pre-shave and thought the under carriage of the razor head was well designed and easy to remove and clean. The magnetic head attaches strong and secure. Stronger than other magnetic heads I’ve used. I haven’t had any alignment problems or grinding noises. I own the following razors : Groomie Baldie Pro ver 2.0 , Freebird Flex and the new Freebird Flex Pro. All of them do a decent job but the Manscape and Groomie give the closest shaves. For the price of this razor I would have liked a nose hair trimmer attachment but the travel case is a nice add on and it comes with a high quality usb c cable + it's own power brick so that makes up for it. Well done Manscape. As long as the replacement blades are reasonable I'll be a happy customer. UPDATE : This is officially my favorite head shaver by a large margin. Not only is it the closest shave of the bunch but it does it so much faster and efficiently.

Worth every penny — amazing for head shaving I bought this MANSCAPED® shaver for head shaving and I’m honestly impressed. I’ve been shaving my head for 20+ years and have tried a lot of different razors and electric shavers. This one gives a clean cut, works fast, and doesn’t miss spots like others I’ve used. Cleanup is easy, and it feels like a high-quality product. Definitely worth the extra money.

Update #1: Noticed during charging that when charging, there is pretty significant coil whine. Like, a LOT of coil whine. If you’re sensitive to high-pitched noises, please be aware; for those of us who have some degree of hearing loss in the upper registers, it probably won’t bother you too badly, but it is still noticeable if you’re in a small, enclosed area like a bathroom. No issues, shaved very close and quickly (make certain your hair is short enough to shave, otherwise it will pull like all rotaries). USB-C charging makes it considerably more convenient for travel than every other shaver I have with their obnoxious proprietary plugs and cables. Cleanup is easy quick thanks to magnetic attachment and battery life seems sufficient but only time will tell there. Enjoy the travel case but it's a bit bulky. Packaging is weirdly ostentatious (it's a tool used to cut hair, not a smartphone) but that's the norm these days. If it holds up to repeated use, seems like a good quality piece of equipment.

I just received mine today and even this early into having this product, I done fell head over heels in love with it. This head shaver has left my head feeling smooth as silk and looking fabulous. I was a bit scared to make that move on it due to this is pretty much one of those "As seen on TV", but after cutting my hair with my clippers and then going to this head shaver.... the rest is in the history books. Now I can't seem to keep my hands off my head because it feels so good. I am truly thinking of just buying the entire wardrobe of Manscaped grooming products because this is just truly remarkable. I have not one regret of buying this product, nor the other two that I have on the way from this company. This gets the job done in very little time. You can not get any better than that. I forgot to mention that this head shaver does the job of a razor blade without the razor bumps aka razor burns. I am getting results this close and yet I still haven't even touched my Barbasol, only used my Williams Lectric Shave with it because I like the smell of it for one, and it also helps in getting a closer and cleaner shave. All I can say now is just simply wow! If being bald is your thing, or if you have been thinking of going bald...... This is the head shaver to buy right here. Even the product it self looks very rich in build quality. I just simply can not express enough about how truly remarkable this product has been for me. And to put the icing on the cake, this is one product that can assure that you will be looking your best ever. And this is what drives me into wanting to buy the entire grooming collection by this company. They can assure that a very important moment will not be ruined due to their product.

I've been a loyal user of the PitBull head razor for years. Despite some issues, it mostly worked great, and when it finally gave out, I decided to see what else was on the market. That’s when I found the MANSCAPED The Dome Shaver PRO Head Shaver. Starting with the positives, I liked the power lock feature and the convenience of USB-C charging. The handle is pretty comfortable to hold, which initially made me think this could be a great product. But unfortunately, that’s where the good stuff ends. The razor head itself is a big letdown. It’s not very flexible and doesn’t adjust well to the shape of your head, so it feels like only the middle blade of the five is actually doing anything. This really affects the shaving experience and leaves a lot to be desired. An even bigger problem is that the head doesn’t lock into the base securely. Since the blades aren’t very flexible, they need a lot of movement to get a close shave. But if the unit isn’t perfectly parallel to your head, the razor head comes loose and needs to be snapped back into place. This flaw is a dealbreaker for me. Most razors have a locking mechanism for a reason, and not having one here is a major oversight. While the idea is promising, this product isn’t quite there yet. I hope version 2 fixes these issues and is worth trying again. Until then, I’ll be looking for something else.

UPDATE: I had a major issue with this originally (see original review below). I Did send the original one back to try a replacement and see if I'd experience the same issue due to a design flaw but it's good. I have not had the same issue with this one. It works well and I have been using it daily now for a few months. ORIGINAL REVIEW: After using it a few times it started making an annoying grinding sound. Seems like it's related to the blades not aligning very well after you remove it to clean it. Spmetimes i can try to realign it and it work but more than half the time it still makes that sound. I'm debating if I should just return it or not. Sometimes I can make it stop and then it works great but other times I can't get it to stop making the grinding sound.

Great product, I previously used the pitbull skull shaver and this thing out performs every aspect of that. Great shave quality, sharp blade, and price is significantly less. The batter lasts a while as well.

The dome shaver works well for a close shave, is water proof and easy to use as described. I would like to give this shaver 5 stars, but unfortunately, the blade section consistently disconnects from the power base during the shave. I am not sure if this is only my shaver or if they are all built this way, as I have only had mine for about 6 weeks and used it probably 5 - 6 times. But for me, this is problematic because it causes the blades (if you are holding the base) or the base (if you are holding the shaver between your fingers) to fall into the sink or shower. This has happened each time I have used the shaver, and it makes it so you have to be extremely cautious using the shaver so you don't drop it and potentially break it. Usually when it starts to disconnect I can catch it, but the last time the blades fell to the shower floor and knocked a small metal disc off the blade section (see the photo). In addition to potentially breaking the shaver, having it fall apart is particularly inconvenient in the shower when you have soap all over your head and face, so it really reduces the utility of the shaver.
