With those speakers, yes, you will need a receiver. If you get active speakers you do not need a receiver. Active speakers would need to be plugged into an outlet. Passive speakers plug into an amp or receiver.

If i add an ortofon red to this rt82 then it will be exactly the same as an rt83. is that correct? no other differences at all?

The Ortophon OM 10 cartridge turns out to be pretty good. I am not sure you will be able to tell the difference upgrading to the RED. There are other cartridges in the $150 to $200 range that would be a better choice. Talk to the experts and given the genre of music you like get some recommendations.

Does it have Bluetooth capabilities?

No this is abasic high quality turntable it does not have a pre amp or Bluetooth capability. You can always use a pre amp with Bluetooth if you need bluetooth.

Do you need to manualy adjust the belt to play 45s?

no adjustment to the belt needed. only move the knob from 33 to 45.
