the perfect solution
finally got this baby installed on the roof. a single mast hosting my Clearstream OTA antenna and a Starlink antenna. the kit is solid and the length was ideal for the two antennas. the standard 20" would not have worked.

Antennas Direct ClearStream Universal Mast (40”) — pulling double duty
This thing is supposed to be a TV antenna mast… and I used it to mount a Wi-Fi access point and a security camera. Not once did it complain. Honestly, it handled the job better than half the mounts actually marketed for cameras. The pole is solid, well-coated, and doesn’t flex, even with a bit of weight on the end. The pivoting base is the real MVP here — lets you get the exact angle you want without doing the “loosen one bolt, drop the whole thing, swear, and start over” routine. Hardware was complete, threads weren’t junk, and the install took maybe 10 minutes. For an outdoor AP and a camera, this gave me the height and rigidity I needed without any wobble. Oklahoma wind tried its best, but the mount didn’t care. Technically for antennas, realistically for whatever you feel like putting up there.

Sturdy and exceptional quality
This universal mast is super sturdy and seems to be made to last through years of exposure to the weather. I've used a number of these from different manufacturers in the past while putting up antennas for other people, and compared to the last two I've sourced, this one seems like it's a higher gauge of steel and feels that much more durable. The base is pre-perforated with holes and slots to allow fixing to flat surfaces or bolting to other poles with u clamps. The powder coating is very well done, which accounts for some of the sense of durability. And the attention to detail by Antennas Direct, all the way down to the inclusion of the little sealing pads, is impressive. Antennas Direct will continue to get my business because of these kinds of things, as it is clear that they want their customers to succeed and that it's not about squeezing every last penny out of a product. That's nice to find, and I appreciate it! The other benefit to this style, and the feature that has made it most useful to me, is that the J-mount mast is punched at both ends. That means it can be reversed, and either end can be secured to the mounting plate. The benefit of mounting the arm backwards from what is shown in the listing is that it allows it to stick way out past a wide roof edge, or to get a lot of clearance off the side of one of those lattice towers. Affix a straight extension tube in the short end that's facing upward into the sky and now you're back to having your three or four feet of height, but you've also got almost three feet of clearance outward from the mounting point. That can be a useful option in some situations, and it adds versatility to this universal mast. I'm thrilled with the quality of this Antennas Direct version of the universal mast, and it will definitely be my first go-to and my first recommendation among its peers, based on the quality.
