This is the fourth book I have ordered from Amazon India. Although the book is fantastic and a great buy for anyone in the creative field, Amazon manages to disappoint me with the quality of its product. Their books always have some defect, like a bend on the cover, some black marks on the back side or a bent spine.

This is everything I wanted to be! From someone who makes up scenarios in her head this is brilliant to get things on paper. Also seems amazing if you are trying to write a book, it’s a great start to build up your own little world! Your imagination has no boundaries :)

Magnifico, semplicemente fantastico!

There are many books out there that are geared towards children, tweens, teens and for adults. All in their out category for their own age group. Well, to me, there is no such thing as an "age limit" to imagination and creativity. I have several of Keri Smith's books such as Wreck This Journal, for example. I've also purchased Create This Book and Create This Book 2 by Moriah Elizabeth. And I'm 32. I find fun, excitement and enjoyment from getting in touch with my creative side and it seems like many adults don't tap into their imaginative side after they reach a certain age. Well, "The Imaginary World Of" by Keri Smith is geared towards adults and is meant to bring that love of imagination back to life. I couldn't wait for my book to arrive. I purchased 3 books total and although I was super excited for all 3, this one was the one I waited at the mailbox for my mailman to arrive for. I brought my Amazon package inside, ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning, and pulled out "The Imaginary World Of." It's definitely bigger than I expected it to be, which surprised and delighted me. The front cover looks like a chalkboard with a strip of notebook paper across it. The feel of it is very much life-like. *I took pictures of several pages, but this doesn't even begin to show the amount of information, prompts and the dedication that went into it. The 2nd page in shows a door and with a quote at the top... "All grown-ups were once children...but only few of them remember it." - Antoine De Saint-Exupéry I really like this quote and it spoke to me. This is very true. As adults, we spend our days working and then coming home to take care of our families - or to an empty home where life responsibilities still grab us. Rarely do we allow ourselves to play and be even a little bit childish and silly, if even for a moment. This book will bring that out of you in such a fun and creative way. There are 159 pages aside from the introduction page, tips and information (which has some quite interesting history attached to it 🙂). The pages feel smooth to the touch and allow writing smoothly within them. [I chose to not write in mine and instead I put loose-leaf paper in a 3-ring binder where I'll follow the prompts and guides to creating my world. This way, I can go back and redo this over again as many times as I'd like without the previous information written inside.] The first "official" page brings you to "The Database" which is where you'll basically keep all your ideas. There are questions to help you get started. These are found all throughout the book and in the back, which is a good thing as Keri Smith doesn't just leave you to jump start the imagination train on your own. The book is VERY detailed and so much so that it's packed with information and things you may have not thought of. You'll describe the street - is made of regular material you would find in the "real world" or is it made of marshmallows and cotton candy? (Wouldn't THAT be something? ☺️) You plan your landscape, describe the weather, create your home, start a map of your world (with some helpful things to get started), choose your persona, write your imaginary bio, create the characters and give them life. You'll name your world, design your worlds headquarters, create your own currency, schools - and what classes are available - build a museum, design a logo/symbol, create a wardrobe, devise a menu, create businesses and shops, transportation, holiday's, plan a parade, parks, write a travelers guide and SOOO much more! When we were children and asked to draw our world, we all drew it in similar ways with a sky, a sun, the ground, a tree, a house and a couple stick figures, but we added in things that were unique to us. As we got older, we'd daydream in class of other places, adventures and take trips to a place all of our own. Then, we were told to "stop acting like a child" and to "focus on our careers and our future" and to "let go" of everything that ever made us who we had become. The essence of our youth became lost in a world that forgot what a childlike sense of wonder and imagination felt like. This book brings it all back, but in a way that makes it greater. As adults, we've experienced the world and there are things we love, hate, wish we could change, add or take away to make it better or more relatable to who we are. We all have dreamed of our future and what it would look like and what the world would be in that time. We've all used our imagination to give us peace, hope, strength and love to our ever-changing reality in which we constantly live but wish we could change. So why can't we imagine an entire world of all that would make US happy and bring peace to our minds and souls? I recommend this book to every adult. For those who have kept that creative side alive and want to expand, for those who want to feel that excitement and wonder once more and for those who forgot what it was like to let loose and allow themselves to pull away from their current reality, if only for a moment, for a whole new one. You will NOT be disappointed.

It's great for mapping out stories on paper to get an idea of the world and your characters. Highly recommended for writers
