A Perfect Start for Beginners and Children
I recently bought this book and found the flow to be incredibly natural. The plot is very clear and easy to understand, even for a beginner. Ruskin Bond uses simple vocabularies, which makes this story perfectly suitable for children also. The characters and the timeline are perfectly portrayed, and I loved that the book includes beautiful black-and-white sketches of the scenes. If you are just starting to read English books, this is definitely the best book to begin!

Beautiful story 👍🏻💕❤️🩹
The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond is a heartwarming story set in a small village in India. It follows Binya, a young girl who trades her lucky leopard-claw pendant for a beautiful blue umbrella. The umbrella becomes her prized possession, and the villagers admire and envy it. Ram Bharosa, an old shopkeeper, grows jealous of Binya's umbrella and desperately wants it for himself. He tries to acquire it through dishonest means, leading to a series of events that teach both him and Binya valuable lessons about kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. The story highlights themes of greed, innocence, and the power of compassion. In the end, Binya shows maturity by giving Ram Bharosa the umbrella, and he, in turn, realizes his mistake. The book is a simple yet profound tale about human nature and morality.

Short yet a delightful read!💙
💠»𝖡𝖮𝖮𝖪 𝖱𝖤𝖵𝖨𝖤𝖶«💠 "She walked home through the darkening glade, singing of the stars; and the trees stood still and listened to her, and the mountains were glad." Title :- The Blue Umbrella Author :- Ruskin Bond Pages :- [80] Rating :- 5/5 ⛱️What a delightful short read it was! I absolutely loved it. ⛱️This beautiful novella is set in the hills of Garhwal. Binya who lives in a village with her family, was wandering around when she finds a group of picnickers. One of the lady had a blue and a very beautiful umbrella which attracted Binya. They gave her the umbrella in exchange for her leopard's claw pendent. ⛱️This blue umbrella brings so much happiness to her that wherever she goes, she never leaves the umbrella. All the villagers were surprised to see such an elegant umbrella with Binya. A shopkeeper 'Ram bharosa' was eyeing on her prized possession. Will the umbrella get stolen? Will it be destroyed? ⛱️It contains images of some of the scenes as well which helps you to visualise the story smoothly and makes the reading pleasurable. ⛱️Ruskin Bond has so beautifully captured the essence of a village within a numbered pages. This novella left me smiling. Its ending is so so beautiful and touching. It showcases the human emotions such as greed, envy, jealousy etc. It's an impressive and a refreshing read that anyone can read. This novella has a great lesson and it must be read by everyone. Loved its cover absolutely! 💙Definitely recommend it to everyone!💙 ____ It came in with great packaging. Was delivered on time. The book was in great condition.

A feel good story
I am reading fiction after almost ten years (I am a 27 years old female). All this while I was reading self-help books that contain more or less the same content so I got bored of them and during the pandemic I stopped reading books altogether. I tried reading some books on the phone but would easily get distracted and discontinue the book. I was getting desparate to get back into my reading habit so without giving it much thought I orderd this book. When I received it, I was shocked to see how thin it was. I could finish it within an hour or two, I thought. But I ended up reading just one chapter a day over the course of a week whilst thoroughly enjoying the art illustrations and absorbing all the information at a slow pace. I feel, it has somewhat healed my inner child. The story is very simple with a moral that I'm sure kids would benefit greatly from. As an adult, I could foresee how it would end yet had a child-like excitement to read the next chapter. I guess I was missing this kind of genuine excitement for reading books, so I'm grateful for this book to help me get out of the reader's slump. Ever since I finished this book, I have gotten more such books that are primarily meant for childre as I'm enjoying their simplistic narration and subtle lessons.
