Review: Useful, easy to set up, and works! - Really useful product - It doesn't have a high level of customizability, but does what it's supposed to do, which is automate non-automated lighting for a cheap price. Basically, you turn it on at the time you want it to turn on every day, set how many hours it should be on, and it repeats that every day. Easy and effective. These worked just fine in-line with both an Aqueon hood, and a Topfin branded hood. Most of my tanks, I just use separate 24/7 timed lighting bars, and never even plug in the built in hood lights - this makes the built in hood lights useful again, and there's value to that!

You turn it on and select your ON duration and it’ll turn off when you asked and repeat the cycle from whatever time you turned it on last. There’s no timekeeping display but so far it’s been keeping time just fine. I didn’t look into compatibility but luckily it connected fine with my existing hood light. I also didn’t need more than one of them which makes the price an even better value.

**Q: Do I need to set how many hours I need in the morning?**
A: Our fish tank timer offers three default timer modes(6, 10, and 12 hours). You set the timer at the hour you want the light on, and the timer will turn the light off after the set amount of hours.

**Q: Does it come in automatically everyday after setting the time initially?**
A: Yes. If you set the aquarium timer to 10 hours at 7 o'clock, it will come on daily at 7 and go off at 5 in the afternoon.If the power goes out or it gets cut off for any reason, the settings will be lost until you reactivate it.

**Q: Can the timer switch other colors of lights?**
A: No, the aquarium light timer can only adjust the light brightness. It can not change or switch the color of the light.

**Q: What lights does this timer work with?**
A: It will work with any 12v-24v LED light with the same 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel connector
