What is the difference between the touch and the classic other than the obvious?  What are the benefits of each? Thanks

I got it for my wife's birthday. She isn't bothered about apps etc. She just wanted something to put her music collection onto. After almost three days, she had only managed to take up about an eighth of the memory. So, if you are just interested in the audio side of iTunes, I would go with the Classic. In fact, I'm getting one for my birthday to replace my Touch.

i have 1 of these and think its great, however, i am not able to upate my music as itunes have changed their software, any suggestions?

Update itunes, then when you plug in your ipod, it usually checked to see if it is running the latest version and updates it if you are not. If not can you get into an apple shop, they should be able to sort out for you.

Yes, and it works perfectly. Comes in a sealed box with all guarantees inside Excellent product, this is the third one we have and I can't recommend it enough.

I live in Europe,  do I need an adapter if I buy this?

The iPod Classic is supplied with a USB cable and a set of headphones. The USB cable is used for both charging the iPod and for transferring data to the iPod from the PC. If you wish to charge the iPod from the mains then a charger which has the necessary pins for your European electrical socket must be purchased. Amazon.es (Spain) or Amazon.fr (France) will be able to sell you the necessary adaptor for your mains sockets. That is the only reason you would need an adaptor. If you are happy to charge the iPod from your PC then you will not need one although I would recommend having one for convenience.
