Lovely warming bourbon that is perfect for mixing
A delicious bourbon with a sweet and spicy flavour that isn't too harsh. It has a lovely warming feeling to it due to the spicy flavour, but balances out well with the sweetness to make an easy drinking bourbon that tastes great with ice and goes down a treat as a warming nightcap. I'm not usually one to mix with coke, but I think the flavour profile of this bourbon works really well with the sweetness of the coke and makes for a refreshing long drink that would be ideal for summer. Overall I was very impressed with this bourbon and at the current price of £24 I think it represents good value. I am a fan of the more expensive 95 rye bourbon Bulleit do, but this fares well in comparison. Maybe not quite as nice as the 95 rye when drank neat, but still very nice and is a great choice if you want a cheaper bourbon for mixing.

Top quality bourbon, spicy at the start, smooth at the end
Really top quality bourbon. It's sort of spicy at the start but really smooth a few seconds later towards the end. The opposite of what a bad whiskey is. I even made a cocktail for it. Here you go: Bulleit Points Ingredients: * 2 oz Bulleit Rye * ¾ oz Yellow Chartreuse * ½ oz Fresh lime juice * ¼ oz Agave nectar * 2 dashes Orange bitters * Lime wheel and candied ginger for garnish Instructions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice 2. Shake well and double strain into a coupe glass 3. Garnish with lime wheel and a piece of candied ginger on a pick

Interesing and refreshing.
I purchased this solid offering when it was on sale for £22 and am very glad to have snapped up another before the price went back up to £33.09. It's touch and go whether I'd buy it again at full price - I'll get back to you when I've finished the second! It was a much better sipper than I thought it would be and a refreshing change from the heavy sweetness of some of the bourbon whiskey I'd been sipping recently. For me this has lovely grassy, sweet pine notes on the nose, with a surprise of gin botanicals drifting over a light vanilla and caramel sweetness. On tasting, there's a nice spicy rye arrival, which is quite zesty, alongside the gin botanicals which continue on from the aroma. Although not overly complex on the palate, with quite a short, dry oak finish, this juice really does reward a good long chew before swallowing, where the more vegetal flavours fend quite mouthwateringly with the light sweetness and some bitterness from the oak, for some happy sour candy before it's gone. I imagine it would be a really good mixer and it does hold up with a little water. But for the last couple of weekends my wife and I have found it a perfect accompaniment to a few games of pool: interesting and refreshing enough for a pause between doings, but not so demanding or complex a dram that it would be wasted on a more lively party atmosphere. One last thing: it was a tad more lively on first opening. So if it seems a bit too sharp at first, you might find that, if sipping neat, leaving it in the glass to settle may help this. After a while with some air in the bottle, we did notice that the drink had mellowed just enough for some more balancing sweetness to shine.

Smooth bourbon with a kick
Rich flavour, slightly spicy with a hint of vanilla, and very smooth neat or with mixers. Bottle design looks premium too.

Wonderful Traditional Flavour
I got this more for the bottle than for the actual liquor. My husband not only drinks bourbon but collects examples of the bottles so I was looking for something he has not had before to add to the collection. He recently opened this one and it has a cork stopper! That was an immediate plus point for us as it does add something to the opening of the bottle to pour a drink when you get that "squeak plop" of removing the cork. The bourbon itself is a beautiful traditional flavour. It initially feels a little thin on the first sip but the flavour and warmth then explodes in your mouth. I am not a connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination but this has such a full and round bourbon taste, even the small sample sip I took really woke my taste buds up. Definitely perfect for sipping on it's own over ice but my husband reports it works equally well when mixed with a cola flavoured soft drink. Versatile and well flavoured. Definitely going to be keeping an eye out for this one in the future.

Cheers!
