When we installed it, we used round concrete stepping stones at each leg. We used a transit to level each stepping stone with a plus or minus 1/8" tolerance. A LEVEL pool will last longer. After we had leveled all the stepping stones, we filled the area with sand. We used a LONG 2x6 on edge to squeegee the sand level with the top of the stepping stones. We have replaced the pump several times. We upgraded to a large sand filter and better pump and hoses. NOT INTEX. We needed to change all the fittings. It was worth the cost to upgrage. We also oversized both the pump and filter. We only used a salt water system one time. While I love the water feel of a salt system, salt is CORROSIVE! I will not use a salt system again. Our frame is showing some rust. Expected wear after 13 years. The vinyl liner has begun to fray as well, but that is an easy fix. Amazon sells a blue vinyl flexible spray for $7.50 per can. The blue matches the blue Intex vinyl well. It took 2 cans to paint the top rails. The prep time and expense is worth it to extend the life of your pool. You said you can't use sand. To protect the bottom of your pool liner, I encourage you to figure out how to get sand under your pool. After 13 years, we still have our original liner and we have never had a hole. Enjoy your pool! **Q: Is there a warranty with this pool?** A: Yes but GOOD LUCK. Intex is a crappy company to say the least. When you talk to their customer service you will speak with some woman in Bangkok or wherever that can barely speak English. And when you ask to speak with a supervisor they straight tell you no. This is NOT it just one phone call to the company mind you this was several due to my frame rusting out after only a year and a half with the saltwater system. Intex would not stand behind their product even after they admitted that it should not of happened and that there must’ve been a fault in their coating. The frame was so bad I could literally push my finger right through it. I asked if I could send them pictures of my issue and they said they have no way to receive them . Intex is a horrible company **Q: How can you hook up a vaccum?** A: Just going along with what Andy said, don't buy any anything from Bestway either. I purchased a damaged pool and they refused to stand behind their product. The rep put me on hold to contact their warranty dept, she came back and said, there's nothing they can do. I asked for a supervisor, she said she was the supervisor. Jack of all trades, I guess Best pool I ever had was Summer Waves. **Q: Do I have to buy sand separately for the pump?** A: Yes. You can buy the sand at any pool supply store. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome pool! *by C***L on June 18, 2020* Loving this pool. Have had several Intex pools over the years, this being the largest. We had our ground professionally leveled which I would highly recommend. We joked about the "90min setup" It took 4 of us about 2.5-3 hours once it was out of the box. Not too difficult though. We opted for concrete blocks under the legs rather than wood. Use smaller pavers than you think as ones with more surface area will crack under pressure of the weight. It took about 48 hours to fill. We used a filter on the end of our hose (purchased on Amazon) which really helped us get levels balanced sooner than we have ever been able to with rural well water. Sand filter seems to be working great. We got a skimmer that has been great at keeping debris off the top. We have lots of trees so opted for a vacuum as well. You won't regret this pool. The size is awesome and has already provided so many hours of fun. We plan to keep it up over the winter after draining it down some and treating it accordingly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The pump is useless *by R***R on April 30, 2025* The pump is a joke! I laughed when we took it out of the box. It us useless. Not strong enough to run the vacuum. The pool itself has held up well. But, we have to replace the hoses twice per summer. Would not purchase again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great pool so far... *by K***N on June 25, 2019* Love the size, could use some more detail on deminsions of legs, not just the pool...salt water is definitely the way to go. We're on week 2 and all I've added was the initial load of salt and been running the pump every night and I have crystal clear water. The pump could use some higher quality fittings. I walked up this morning to find the fitting at the strainer leaking. I guess it vibrated loose from running? If you tighten too much it tries to crossthread, you can put too much muscle in tightening it. I only used my hands. The dimensions of the legs would have saved some back work. I had to put the pool together and stretch out the legs on all the corners to get a rough measurement to set my pavers, then take the legs loose to dig out for setting them as they need to be level with the pool surface. You definitely want concrete blocks and not the wood. Getting the ground level is crucial before assembly of any pool. I had to spend a week leveling the ground but it was well worth it. I purchased the salt system separately as I saved around $150 in doing so. Sam's club had the best deal on salt in my area at $6 a bag. I filled up to the tan line on the pool and put in 400lbs. It's been doing well and my chlorine levels are on point. Seeing my little girl have fun and letting her help me prep the ground and assemble it was fun, seeing her in it was awesome.
