We were using a large plastic garbage bin for years. We had another stainless steel bin in the past that kept breaking and we figured we'd never bother again. Finally, we renovated the kitchen and wanted something better. Thought I'd try this. Ready to go directly out of the box. Two compartments, we use one for garbage and one for recycling. While they don't fill the bag completely because they are a little smaller, realistically, it fills the garbage bag enough. Rather than stuffing huge bags that are hard to lift and break on you, these allow you to fill a standard back about 2/3rds full which is just fine. Step peddle opens the lid easily... a lock to keep it open if you need to. Compartment containers that slide out so you can keep it clean. We've had it for a few months now and it's STILL WORKING. Fantastic bin... couldn't be happier. Looks clean and sleek, works as it should, and just the right size. PERFECTION!!!!
