Slightly disappointed
Unfortunately our mare leans on her tail when travelling. Although this is a lovely tail guard and easy to put on it doesn't prevent rubbing. We had to get a neoprene tail guard from a different brand and this seems to have stopped any sores appearing after we've been out.

Perfect
Does exactly the job without fuss. I come from an era where we had to use elasticated bandages to protect tails when travelling. They were difficult to get on and there was always the risk of putting them on too tightly with nasty consequences. This tail guard is so easy to get on and off and less risk of cutting off the circulation in the dock. And they go straight in the washing machine without a problem.

This tail guard does what it says on the tin. It was good value for money and arrived within the agreed timeframe. It may be helpful to point out that the material does not completely enclose the tail as the straps stretch around the underside of the dock and attached with very robust Velcro fastenings. This is just as well, as the guard would become very easily solid if you have a nervous traveller like I do.

One-sided. Velcro straps impossible to separate.
Not very padded and basically a fleece rectangle down the outside of the tail, held in place by velcro straps which go round the underside and could scratch and rub the delicate skin. The velcro straps themselves are a nightmare - almost impossible to get your fingernails between the two layers to pull them apart. Avoid!

This is great for my German Shepherd. He is a real tail wager and cuts his tail alot in the woods and around the house. The ones for dogs are to short. This is amazing
