When we hear the words “once upon a time” we are magically transported to a faraway land of enchantment, a timeless realm of wondrous fantasies and infinite possibilities. Presenting mystical tales from around the world, Fairy Tale Tarot invites you to embrace the universal wisdom shared by enduring characters and timeless archetypes. Their struggles, successes and growth mirror our own experiences and teach us profound life lessons. When we see ourselves in the cards, we establish a greater awareness of ourselves. Includes 78 cards and 156-page illustrated guidebook. Review: Great deck for reading. - What I like about them: - Substantial card stock with smooth surface but not overly slick. - Easy to shuffle and hold size. - Beautiful artwork. - Fairy tale theme. The pictures represent folk tales from many cultures, some of which I admit I'm not familiar with. This leads me to two points. A) I want to explore those folk tales now. B) The images are still archetypal enough to read without having to know the background. - The artist/author chose tales that align very well with the traditional Rider-Waite imagery. - I found it an excellent and intuitive deck for reading. Some decks are for appreciating but not reading. This one has value for actual use. What I didn't like: - Nothing. It's fantastic! Review: 🦢🧚🏼♀️🌹Fairy Tale Tarot - These Tarot cards are absolutely magnificent! US Games did an amazing job — the deck is simply perfect. The back color is a lovely, soft blue — so gentle and pleasant to the eye. I truly love these cards. I also have the Spanish edition by Editorial Sirio, which I like a little less because the edges weren’t very neatly finished. However, I painted the edges with a gold marker, and it turned out beautifully! Still, I wanted to have the deck in English — and now my dream has finally come true!

PSA: this is deck only, LWB cripples the deck.
Five stars for the deck, minus two for whatever problem led to the exclusion of the referent stories. The original edition of this deck had a book that contained the actual text of each fairy tale. This book is still available through an app published by The Fool's Dog. I use this deck for a one-card draw alongside my RWS 3-card spread. Then I open the app with the full-screen card on one side and the text of the original book on the other side. To get that, I use the following settings (iPad): Full screen cards show: Both Image and Meaning Which card meaning to use: Full text from the book That's a satisfactory experience for me because I do my readings at the same - well, the same chair, I have a special desk for tarot - but I do it where I sit all day for work. So it's no problem to just open up the app. AFAIK this is the only way for a non-professional-folklorist to work with this deck. If you try to Google the stories or look at a website that tries to catalog the entire ATU, you run into the problem of multiple versions; and there's nothing in the LWB for this deck to indicate which version the author was vibing on. You really need that original book. I've been a fairy tale enthusiast for about five years, and I could tell some version of all my favorite Grimm's tales by heart. But the moment I step out of that corpus, it is a very steep drop down into ignorance. I have a few scattered favorites from anthology books, Jungian sources, etc, and I have bookmarked websites to help track down tales. But with all of that, This deck was largely opaque to me without the Fool's Dog app. It must be some quirk of copyright law that they can't include even a bibliography or like a link to a Zotero library or something. I don't know that there's a villain in this situation necessarily. Just be aware that buying this deck doesn't really get you the full set of materials you need to work with the deck. Also be thankful that there is a solution. I'm just glad that someone took the time and energy to publish that original book through an app. This is a lovely, wonderful deck and it should be kept alive. Which, I guess if I put my money where my mouth is, I should give it five stars, right? But it also seems important in the long run that there be a cost for the company putting out this crippled product without any disclaimer.

Work of art
Soo interesting deck. Absolutely breathtaking. The art here is spectacular. Very thought provoking and unexpectedly clear reader. Thanks to it's art and fairytale associations it's very nuanced and complex, maybe you could use it as oracle or in a other preferred intuitive way.

Where's the expanded guidebook?
Happy that this deck was republished. Only two things I would have liked is, larger cards for better view of details and that it would have included the original large guidebook in the first publication. Other than that, it's a great fairy tale tarot. I do believe the creator and or publisher is considering releasing the large guidebook as a separate purchase, I hate that, so I guess that's three things, having to spend more money to get the full experience of the deck.

Disegni molto belli

Recomendo fortemente!
