fan insufficient but units work

Kit is not designed to run at rated output of 12VDC at 6ADC.
The heat sink and fan included with the kit are insufficient to cool the Peltier device at the rated 12VDC / 6ADC conditions. The included fan mounting hardware does not mount to the heat sink. There is no provision to mount the fan to the heat sink. While the fans are very quiet, they do not provide adequate cooling of the heat sink.

seems pretty good for my needs but when i applied voltage to the cooling device it felt cold for a moment then got very hot

Great teaching set for my 9yo twins as it has everything you need to demonstrate the thermoelectric effect as long you have standard teaching tools for science and engineering.For teaching here’s what else you need/want to demonstrate full functionality:A 12 or 24 volt DC power source (ex: car battery)A contactless thermometerA multimeterA dual-probe thermometer that can simultaneously measure, chart, and display two temperaturesSomething fun to heat or cool, we did my kids water bottles and my coffee cup to show how you can heat and cool at onceA hot and cold source (ice water and coffee as above) to show this running “backwards” and generating electricity.

Cold side gets heat soaked, not bad if you only care about the heat part
Pretty cool however they get heat soaked too fast then the "cold" side gets hot. You would need a much bigger fan and heat sink to actually get these things to cool something down. Not bad if your using it to heat something though.
