The keyboard is to high of the desk the keys are to large the travel is to much Built quality is amazing but that about it the over all design is terrible and not good for gaming if you use the f keys You can remap all keys which is nice web based software which is very nice and easy to use I did the speed test when using the cable and it wasn’t 1000hz polling which was disappointing . I think they are many better keyboards out there in this price range

The Keychron Q6 Max is an absolute beast of a keyboard that instantly transports me back to the golden era of IBM metal keyboards from my middle school days. Right out of the box, the full-metal construction exudes durability, giving it a weighty, premium feel that ensures it stays firmly in place on my desk—no accidental slides here unless you're deliberately moving it. Typing Experience & Switches Equipped with Gateron Banana switches, the typing experience is smooth and incredibly satisfying. The tactile feedback is reminiscent of old-school IBM buckling spring keyboards, though with a slightly more modern and, admittedly, louder twist. The sound is deep, crisp, and borderline obnoxious, making it a potential nightmare in open office environments—but for home use, it's a dream come true for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. Performance & Customization Since switching to the Q6 Max, my typing speed has noticeably improved at least 10% increase. The hot-swappable PCB makes it easy to swap out switches if you ever feel like experimenting. QMK/VIA support means extensive customization, from remapping keys to setting up macros effortlessly. The programmable knob is a handy addition, whether you're adjusting volume, scrolling, or fine-tuning other controls. Connectivity & RGB With Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB-C wired options, the connectivity is seamless, catering to Mac, Windows, and Linux users alike. The RGB backlighting is bright and vibrant, though it can be turned off or adjusted to more subtle effects if you prefer a more understated look. Final Thoughts If you're looking for a heavy-duty, nostalgia-packed keyboard with modern features, the Keychron Q6 Max is a stellar choice. However, its loud switches might not be ideal for office environments unless you work alone or have a soundproof space. Overall, this keyboard is a masterpiece for mechanical keyboard lovers who appreciate both function and form. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) ✅ Pros: ✔️ Solid metal build – heavy, sturdy, and premium ✔️ Fantastic tactile typing experience with banana switches ✔️ QMK/VIA support for deep customization ✔️ Multiple connectivity options (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, USB-C) ✔️ Hot-swappable PCB for switch customization ✔️ Smooth, programmable knob ❌ Cons: ❌ Loud key switches – not ideal for shared workspaces ❌ Weighty – not the most portable option Would I recommend it? Absolutely—if you love old-school IBM keyboards and want a modern mechanical upgrade, the Q6 Max is a dream come true!

Love this keyboard should have made the investment a long time ago. My productivity has significantly increased and it's a pleasure to use. I've been running cheaper Logitech and other type keyboards now for too many years obviously. If I'd known it was such a game changer I would have made the jump before now. Well worth the money for anyone who spends any kind of time behind a keyboard like I do at times 10 to 15 hours a day. Not gaming. I do a lot of technical writing and commercial as well.

This keyboard with banana switches has completely transformed my typing experience. The aluminum build quality feels premium, and QMK/VIA customization lets me create perfect shortcuts. Both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless work flawlessly with zero lag. The banana switches are an absolute joy to type on - each keystroke feels smooth and satisfying with the most amazing sound profile I've ever heard from a keyboard. The acoustic experience is simply sublime, making every typing session feel like music. I'm typing faster and more accurately, and genuinely look forward to using it just to hear those beautiful key presses. The battery life is excellent and rarely needs charging, even with RGB enabled. If you're considering a premium mechanical keyboard, the Q6 Max with banana switches is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

I originally ordered this keyboard (Q6 Max) on November 30, 2025, and it arrived on December 8 properly shrink-wrapped. During setup, I discovered that the Wi-Fi dongle was not working. Bluetooth and wired connections functioned fine. I also learned that programming the keyboard using Keychron Launcher requires a wired connection, apparently you can't use the dongle on this model. I wanted to assign two of the four keys above the number pad for use with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, but they would not stay learned into the keyboard once the keyboard was unplugged. Every time I programmed the keys (for whatever application) and disconnected the cable, the programmed functions or shortcuts stopped working. I also attempted a factory reset, which did not resolve the issue. For the issues I was experiencing, I contacted Amazon. The representative suggested that the dongle may have become unpaired, though they didn’t have a clear explanation or solution for the programming issue. Since I had purchased the keyboard during a Black Friday sale and it was no longer discounted by the time it arrived, Amazon offered to send a replacement and have me return the original unit. Aside from the dongle and programming issues, the original keyboard itself worked perfectly in terms of typing, overall feel, and they keys themselves did not have any issues. The replacement shipped on December 15 and arrived on December 20. Unfortunately, when I opened it, it was clearly used and in very poor condition. The box was covered in stickers, there was no shrink wrap, the keyboard bag had already been opened, and there was even hair stuck to the adhesive on the bag. I took photos immediately and contacted Amazon again. While the customer service representative was polite, they implied the issue was with the manufacturer/seller (Keychron), even though these keyboards are shipped and sold by Amazon. Because I had already received one “bad” replacement, Amazon said they could not send another and advised me to return it. If I wanted another keyboard, I would have to place a completely new order with a later delivery date. I really like this keyboard overall. It has a great sound and a nice pop without being overly loud or disruptive. I also appreciate the 20+ lighting pattern options, though I do wish the lighting went through the tops of the keycaps like it does on my K2. The major downside is my overall experience. For the price point, it has been extremely frustrating just trying to receive a fully functional, brand-new product. My older K2 keyboard worked perfectly fine and was less expensive but was not as customizable - this product should be customizable when it works, but I wanted to upgrade to a full-size keyboard. At this point, I’m not sure I will reorder the Q6 Max due to the hassle involved. I’ve also seen other posts mentioning this same keyboard arriving with rocky or uneven-feeling keys or other problems. The first unit I received didn’t have that issue at all, which makes it even more disappointing that the problem with it was the non-working dongle and programming.
