A month in, it's running great
I've got a small, old house with no central HVAC. So, it's heated and cooled with split units and window units. This is a huge step up from a heat pump window unit for not much more money. Obviously, this is a lot more difficult to install, but the inclusion of a defrost cycle and its quiet operation make it vastly superior. As to the installation, I did the whole thing myself. I'm no HVAC pro, but I have a vacuum pump and manifold gauges from automotive work. I did have to buy a split unit-specific adapter fitting for my gauges and some electrical stuff, but otherwise what was included was turn key. The instructions could be a little clearer on the relationship between line length and pre-charge amount, with "standard" lengths listed for different regions that are different from the included pre-flared lines. To avoid stressing over the quality of my flares, I went with the full length lines as shipped, vacuumed them out for double the recommended time, removed the gauges, opened the valves at the outdoor unit, and let it rip. It runs great, ice cold on A/C and nice and hot on heat. The remote control is the same as my existing Carrier units, so I can control them all with the same remote. Highly recommended.

Relatively easy install, great function
It came in good condition and wasn't too hard to install. I was able to do the installation with no help, but I would recommend having a helper to mount the inside unit. Hardest part was carefully bending the copper tubes between the indoor and outdoor units to keep them hidden behind the indoor part where they go through the wall. If you don't hire an HVAC tech to start the system up, you'll need a vacuum pump to evacuate the sytem before opening the valves on the outdoor part to release the charge into the rest of the system. I bought one of the cheaper vacuum pumps from Amazon to do it myself, and used it on this system and another. The unit is very quiet and quick to bring my 12x20' office down from 80° to just above 70°. Since it is a heat pump, it has condensate drains from both the inside and outside units.

Gets the job done
I purchased this, mainly for the price I usually use Senville, but this came up at more than $100 less than the 9000 BTU Senville that I purchased for my rental. I’m using it in a 11 x 12 bedroom. The unit is so light you can install it by yourself no problem easy install I just had to pay for the HVAC guy to hook up the lines so I can get the warranty but then I found out that you don’t need the HVAC guy to do it because It’s in California I could’ve saved $500 on the condenser install and did it myself for a change but at 12 worth it to make sure it’s working properly if you have a pro cut flare and vacuum the lines because the equipment that it takes to vacuum the lines and check the charge is very important stage and they install that I don’t like to deal with maybe down the road

Never got it to work right
We could never get this unit to work properly. It turns on and seems like it is going to work but doesn’t cool the room down at all. We have had people come out to try to fix it multiple times without any success. I have officially given up on fixing it and would like to just return it, but I think it has been too long to do that unfortunately.

Midea is the manufacturer of Olmo!
Just installed the OLMO, 12,000 BTU...115 voltage...was installed by professionals....the installation went well...took about 3 hours... The unit is super quiet..on low speed cannot hear it at all. Had it installed in my bedroom suite with the AC unit outside on cement bricks.. Wanted a second AC so it would not be necessary to cool the whole house for just one room...also would be more economical instead of firing up a 5 ton unit. Very happy with the quality and efficiency.....Decided to go with this unit since it used copper pipes and the condenser was manufactured by Toshiba with a 5 year warranty. I peeled off the OLMO decal so the unit would blend in more with the house....It is cold now...so using it for heat as it is a "heat pump" energy source....very happy with the unit...

Biy the Warranty
I bought two of these units and have replaced both under warranty. This particular set was the last replacement unit.. I have gotten just under two years out of each one. Maybe I should have bought name brand units. When they work, they work well. Its a gamble.

Works well for 10x12 room
We had a tech install this in a bedroom on the west side of the house which is in direct Sonoran Desert sun all day. We bought the wall mount brackets Amazon recommended for the exterior compressor. Everything needed came with the mini-split, the only issue we had was two of the locking nuts to anchor the unit to the brackets were defective and wouldn't tighten and required a trip to the hardware store for replacements. Unit cools and heats well with minimal increase in our electric bill.

Do research about associated cost for installation
A professional team, consisting of HVAC, electrician, and drywall contractors, collaborated to install the unit in an attic room lacking ventilation. Although there were additional expenses for a longer cord due to the provided short tubing, the unit is now functioning well. The electrician also installed a dedicated power source, which incurred extra costs. On the positive side, the unit is user-friendly, and the washable filters contribute to cost-saving benefits.
