Durable and won't roll
I purchased the CAP Cast Iron Hex DumbbellI bought two, 25 pound dumbbells for use in a home gym.Shipping: Arrived fast Amazon Prime, came packed well no dingsQuality: Great quality owned them over a year nowPros:• Free ship, great quality with cap• Hexagonal shape prevents weights from rolling around• Good grip• Solid won’t chip, break or rust• Online with free shipping cheaper than in sports stores lesser qualityCons• NoneConclusion:I use these with a home gym. These are great barbells and I bought 25 pounders for certain light exercises. I use the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells for heavier weights and use the 25 pound dumbbells so I don’t have to keep changing the adjustables when doing super sets. The CAP dumbbells are a great well-made product and I recommend them to anyone lifting in a home gym scenario. 5 stars

exactly as described
I've been doing P90X3 (just completed my first round) and I've been getting stronger, so I needed some heavier dumbbells. So, I ordered these. (The heaviest ones I owned previously were 15 pounds.)There's not a lot you can say about dumbbells. I put them on my scale; the display read "19.8" for each of them. Considering there is always some uncertainty in the last digit, and that 20 pounds is probably towards the lower end of the range this scale is capable of weighing in the first place, 19.8 is close enough to 20 for my purposes. Importantly, they both weighed in at exactly the same amount, which suggests uniformity and quality control in the manufacturing process.Other than that, they're pretty plain hex dumbbells. They have smooth (non-textured) grips and do not appear to be in any danger of falling apart, despite some (very) rough handling during shipping.FYI (and this does not impact the rating I give in any way): If you order two of these, as I did, you may want to place the order separately from any other items. I am not sure other items/products would survive if shipped in the same box with these.

Good for home gym
Cheap, durable and high quality. These dumbbells fit the bill for me, been using them for a few months now and no problems. I put a yoga mat on the ground to set them on in between sets and they haven't chipped or had any problems. I do wear gloves so I can see slight discoloration on the handles, but i'm not sure if that's the glove color getting on it or the paint fading. Either way, they still weigh 20 pounds and have a handle.

Tips on sizes to buy.
This set is unnecessarily expensive. I own Cap Dumbbells, fixed, exactly like these but uncoated with rubber, just not the whole set. I've purchased them from Amazon and from Dicks, who also sells them. They are good Dumbbells, solid, straight, so-so knurling. Here's the skinny. You can hold a 5-pound Cap dumbbell in the same hand as any other dumbbell simultaneously. Try it when you see these at a big box store, the five pounders are tiny, with tiny heads, and when you cross the handles, they are easily lifted together, one hands with any other heavier dumbbell. I have fairly small hands for a guy and I can do it. When my wife dies it, she likes to use eight inch Velcro straps, just Anazin search them, to hold them together; I just do it without straps. If you can do as I say, and the weights individually in Amazon are cheap and free shipping, you can do as I did. These prices are on Amazon now. Two pairs of five pounders is 20 bucks. A pair of 15 pounders is 30 smackeroulians. Okay, so what does that give you? Per hand, you can lift 5, 10, 15, or 20 pounds, depending on what you hold (e.g. Two fine pounders per hand s ten pounds). That might be enough for a person with a total outlay of fifty bucks.Want more? If you buy two 25-pounders for 40 more clams total (based on current price), now you can do 25 and 30 pound lifts per hand. You would have a total investment of ninety bucks. Only ninety bucks to go up to thirty pounds (stand sold separately, if you care about such things). That is much, much cheaper than the price of this set.If you want more than thirty pounds per dumbbell, buy a PowerBlock Elite set (I've done an extensive review of that set) or an Ironmaster set...much better use of your money.Hope that helps. Some may not want to hold two Dumbbells at a time...all I can say is to try it when you hit the big box store next time you're there. Hope this helped.

Good value for the money with Prime shipping
There's really not a lot to say about a dumbbell other than the grip on the bar is enough to not slip but not so rough as it hurts your hands without gloves. It was a great value when combined with the Prime shipping for a pair and saved me from lugging them from a store, into the trunk, and then into the house. I had visions of a dumbbell rolling and smashing a tail light from inside the car.

Really amazing device this thing is
Really amazing device this thing is. When I first got it, i swear it weighed 50 lb's. Now after using it for awhile I would swear that it weigh's 10 lb's. I soon realized that no matter what it REALLY weighs it has transformed my body into a lifting machine. Well worth the money invested in this magical inanimate object.

Does what it’s supposed to...
Not sure what you can say about weights other than they weigh what they’re supposed to weigh. I gave four stars for easy to hold and easy to use primarily because I have arthritis I. My hands and sometimes they are not always easy to hold. But that’s not the company‘s fault. I will probably buy the 25 pound weights next because these do work very well when my hands don’t hurt.

Great product, terrible packaging
I bought these for my husband & he loves them. They arrived quickly, but how it got packed was ABYSMAL. It was packed loose in a GIANT cardboard box, which was in tatters by the time it made it to me. I felt so sorry for the delivery guy that had to struggle with such a poorly packaged product.Despite the terrible packaging, it was unharmed and looks/works great six months later.

You may want to buy some grip wraps for the handle for comfortable use.
Cheaper here on amazon than in other retails stores here in Toronto (i.e. Walmart,Sport Chek, etc.), saved about $10 - $20 and was delivered to my door. Weights were described as stated. Only concern is the smell, but it seems that it will go away after some time. You may want to buy some grip wraps for the handle for comfortable use.

Too expensive for what it is.
Just average everyday weights. Should be charging just under a dollar a pound so it should be a lot cheaper than they are.
