Hands down the best dark chocolate ive tried its very rich and natural not overly sweet or bitter the texture is very nice as well. I cant really compare it ot other chocolate brands its great on its own and or for baking! give it a try! :)

I love these, they are far and away my favorite salty dark chocolate bars. If you know of a better one, seriously respond to this review so I can find out for myself.

SOOOOO DELISH!!!

So I'm not sure what went wrong with these bars. I've been purchasing Hu Bars (many different flavors) from my local grocery stores for the past several years, and when I saw the 6 pack here for a great price, I couldn't pass it up since Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I would be using these for baking. Upon opening a package to bake with, I noticed that they were *very* bloomed and had a tad bit of a weird/stale smell. I decided to taste a square, and they were just WRONG - like salted funky cardboard, unusual texture, very very poor quality. They were all in-date and had a year before expiration. I used the bar anyway in my usual Tarheel pie, because maybe it was just me that day... but it came out of the oven tasting like ultra bitter burnt chocolate, which has never happened before. Now I have 5 bars here completely wasted, and completely wasted my money as well. I LOVE my Hu Bars because of their amazing quality and fabulous ingredients, but I do not recommend purchasing them online - buy them from your local store.

I love the chocolate...but to wait 2 months to get it is quite ridiculous!

Humans have been making chocolate for probably hundreds of years, so it's a surprise when they come up with one that's so much better. This is beautiful chocolate, sweetened with coconut sugar so doesn't have the kick or compulsion of cane sugar, but doesn't taste like coconut. It's different from other chocolates in that it seems substantial and healthy. As one health food store owner said, "It tastes like FOOD." In other words, it doesn't feel like an indulgence, but that it's good for you. I love all the Hu flavors, but the Salty is my favorite. Second is the Coffee/Hazelnut, but be warned, it does have a distinct coffee hit. Third is the Simple dark chocolate. All yummy, I don't buy any other chocolate anymore.

I’d been buying this brand from Sprouts grocery store but they are so expensive. Decided to try through Amazon. Read all the reviews and saw all the comments about old and melted product. I knew there was a chance this could occur and sure enough, the other reviews weren’t wrong. The chocolate itself tastes fine, although not fresh like from the grocery store. Melting must affect the freshness. I’m still going to eat them because they are expensive. Likely won’t order this way again until middle of winter to see if it’s just a summer issue. Disappointing because this truly is usually a phenomenal product for people like me that have to have limited ingredients. And for the record these were not left on my porch for any length of time. I immediately brought them in and they were solid-but I could feel they had been melted and reset. They are hard in the photos but you can clearly see the misshapen lumping from previously being melted at some point. If you can get them fresh-totally worth it. Great product unless pre melted.
