SAM Medical Finger Splint, Orange and Blue, 3 Count

Life happens and this splint along with this companies other splints are great to have around with accidents occur. I purchased this as a stocking stuffer for our adult son who has more than once injured a finger playing sports. Now the next time it happens he will be able to splint it himself and not just tape fingers together. I used the bigger size to splint my wrist after falling at home to keep it immobile while waiting to get seen by a medical provider. They were impressed that we had this at home to use and knew how to use it properly. I told them that my husband put together a First Aid backpack long ago when our kids were in sports because nobody else had stuff needed. We always suggest these splints to friends who have kids in sports or buy them for our friends as a little gift.

Essential for every first aid kit and home.

Might not work for other conditions. (Does not completely immobilize fingers. You might have to ad tape for that. But with my condition, I do not need complete immobilization.) Great for sleeping if you suffer from "trigger finger". Doesn't feel so creepy in bed as products with scratchy fabrics. Would be nice if it came in a pack with a variety of sizes to fit different sized fingers. Happened to fit mine perfectly! Several products work well--This product worked better for sleeping than the others I have tried. Easy to put on and take off also.

Going by recommendation of emergency medicine instructor. Won’t know how effective they are until we need to use them. Which is, hopefully, never. But, they are recommended as the best. And, they appear to be. As a Boy Scout Leader, I had occasion to improvise. Wish I had them then.

Haven't needed to use them yet, but gee I sure do with I'd had 'em a month or so ago when I jammed my pinkie badly while clearing brush. Yeah you can use a tongue depressor or a Popsicle stick, but what's not to like about SAM splints of any size? These are handy to keep around. They are flexible when you need them to be, but not when you don't. And they are blue and orange!! They say -- here is a classy injured guy, not an idiot who just hurt himself and is now wearing a Popsicle stick. I have always kept the full-size SAM splint around in case I get extra klutzy some day (or could help someone else who an accident has befallen), but these little guys will be a great peace-of-mind addition to my first aid kit. Maybe I won't need to use them soon, but if I don't that is just great anyway!

If you carry a basic first aid kit, these compact splints are easy to fit inside. Made just like other foam backed aluminum splints, these are easy to use and quite sturdy. Since finger injuries are fairly commonplace, these are great to have in a first aid kit, even a small one. These are well made, with good foam adhesion. Recommended.

SAM SPLINT SAVED THE DAY! This little gem kept my finger joint still enough for it to knit back together. I’ll never travel or do sports again without one in my pocket or pack.
