Can I connect this to my tv for surround sound as well?

I assume you want to play the TV sound through the Magnavox. There are 2 ways. The Magnavox has a line input which you can connect to the line output of your TV. Otherwise, if the TV is a bluetooth device, you can pair it to the Magnavox and it will play the TV audio. See page 15 of the manual.

Does the alarm function with the cd player? can one wake to a cd? i need to know this before deciding whether or not to buy.

I never got that far. We tried using the CD player to start with. It showed I had 20 songs on the CD, played 10 of them and stopped. Couldn't get it to advance to song #11. Tried taking the CD out and putting it in again and it wouldn't even load at all. I wouldn't suggest buying this at all.

does the CD player have a continuous repeat function?

The cd player is kind of iffy it certainly wont play all cds all the time.i got what i paid for on this one.
