I see that this and many other aftermarket units have many terrible reviews. I bought this like about 2 months ago. I just installed it today. Honestly, idk where people have their heads at. Firs tiff was of course taking the dash bezel off and dropping the steering wheel down and stuff to get to the old unit which the old unit was held with a few screws. Took the screws out and took the old unit out and unplugged it. Plugged in the new unit and put the dash bezel back on then turned on the truck which is a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500. So anyway back to what I was saying. I turned on the truck and no calibration was needed. I was going through each setting and I was messing with it for a good while to see how it would work longer than a few minutes after installing. Messed with it for a good 30 minutes going through the temps and control settings. The fit was very nice and popped right in place and fits like oem. The first picture is my old one. I lights were half out, and it was just old 21 years. Second is the new one after installing and the last was a little while ago when it got dark. Definitely looks better than the 22 year old unit. It was pretty much just plug right in without calibration. I heat and air both work and the fan kicks off when turning the unit off. Lights are good and bright but not crazy bright. I buttons and knobs are nice and smooth. Only time will tell how long it will last, but I'm very impressed already and works straight out of the box!!! I get told that all aftermarket parts are junk, but in reality I think most people just hate parts because they think the stuff is junk just having 1 day use of it. For around $80 for price ,id pay this instead of paying oem price. So glad to have my heat and air back.

Extremely disapointed, unfortunately I pass the 30 days return, it is not working properly at all. You can't adjust the temperature, neither the AC or the heating. I got this module because the "good reviews" This is a peace of garbage, totaly wasted money.

Works great!! I installed it about a year ago and no issues. Great value for the money. Easy to install and functions like OE.

Easy install, it was a little glitchy on first use, but I think it’s working fine now, which is better than the old unit I took out.

My 2000 Chevrolet 2500 fan control was worn out and not making a good connection. This was priced great, looks and fit perfectly, the quality is excellent, and the install super easy. It works great and feels good like a new OEM one. Highly recommended!

It’s really bad after i get two hours to install it doesn’t work. It’s really bad. Do not buy this.item

Fixed issue with hot/cold. Blower knob is harder to turn than it should be.

It's junk. Does not control heat on drivers side. So damper is not being moved damper OK. Control no good.

Very poor product, loose fit poor lights and wouldn't control the blend door , definitely junk !

No unfortunately it didn't. Looks exactly the same as the one in my pick up. Did as the 3 instructions asked of me. It did its thing looked like it was going to work then nothing. All it would do id light up and no fan. Tried to recalibrate and nothing. Couldn't get it to go into calibration mode.
