A cool option for experimenting with bike setup
I have an array of older bikes that I've collected and have been having fun tinkering with different setups that will make them better suit my purposes. I find that I end up mixing road, mountain bike trails, and gravel paths all in the same ride, and there isn't one perfect bike made to handle all of those things. These bolt on "drops" seem like they could be cool for giving a more narrow, aerodynamic, position on a Mountain Bike when you want to ride some smoother terrain. My MTB has very wide bars, so I'm trying these things mounted to the inside of the grips and brake levers, closer to the stem, to maximize the aerodynamic benefits, similar to the very narrow bars you see some road and track cyclists using. In this application, the clamp width of these drop bar attachments is irrelevant, but I could see situations where it would be nice if the manufacturer had used a narrower clamp design, to make it easier to get them around the bends of some handlebars with more curves, or for people who have a ton of stuff on their bars, with precious little space to add more, or for people adding them to the outside of their grips, but don't want to move everything in too much, narrowing their position on the "flat" portion of their regular handlebars. At the same time, this wide clamp will help distribute the clamp force on the handlebar, so I can understand why they would use it, especially when you consider that some strong/heavy riders may be hitting pot-holes and whatnot with their full weight on these things. That is to say, I'm not currently using them in the position shown in the pictures, although I could imagine that being useful on a different bike, where I am turning an old mountain bike into a dedicated urban "fixie" (but with fat tires, unlike most fixies). Since fixies have no shifters or brakes, I figure these bolt-on drops will allow me to essentially experiment and "choose my own bar width" simply by sliding them around on the current flat bar, and once I find the setup I like then I can cut the flat bars down. When compared to regular road drop bars, these have a bend that would be considered a "classic" curve, rather than the ergo or variable radius drop bars that are also on the market, so they are better suited to being gripped in the lower portion rather than on the middle of the curve due to the way the shape of the hand interfaces with the bar. Also, when considering these, make sure you feel like your flat handlebars aren't too low, as then this even lower "drop" position wouldn't be very comfortable. In that instance, "Bar ends" that project forward might be a better option. But if your regular bar position is just fine, or maybe even higher than you want, these could really be an ideal way to keep your high position for trails, but allow you to get low and aerodynamic once you hit the road or smooth gravel.

I never knew I needed these!
I had a lower end mountain bike that I set up indoors on a trainer. With long, tough workouts, I decided it was time to try drop bars. WOW, I love them! These are nice, high quality thick metal bars. I never feel like they are going to move under my weight. I do wish they had a bit more of a wider curve to them to make it more comfortable to grip the curve, but they are great for a conversion! In fact, they got me wanting to add some to my higher quality outdoor mountain bike for those long gravel rides!

Just What I Needed
I am using this product as a "raise bar" instead of a "drop bar"I'm 6'4" and am tired of being hunched over whenever I ride my bike. This product allowed me to easily be in a much more comfortable position when I'm just cruising, and on a budget! I have permanent wrist damage as well so the horizontal orientation of normal handlebars is painful versus this vertical orientation. Solves two pains with one product, wonderful! The construction of the bars themselves leave nothing to be desired in my opinion. Strong, sturdy and hasn't even began to slip or rotate once tightened down. If you are extra paranoid about accidental rotation or slippage during riding then a thing layer of handlebar wrap between these bars and the original bars would be solid insurance. The hex head bolt tightens smoothly and is quality enough to where it doesn't feel like it will strip easily at all. Please note that the bar end inserts that are worn out, scratched and look terrible in the photos are the original bar end inserts from my factory handle bar. The inserts that came with the drop bars are on the end of them and look great and sit tightly.Bonus points for them labeling the torque value right by the bolt. Super extra bonus points for the tip on the product listing to use isopropyl alcohol to get the sleeves on instead of soap and/or water.Speaking of the sleeves: they are the only reason this review is not 5 stars. They just miss the mark for me. The first test ride I did with them on they had too much movement in them and I didn't feel like I had a stable grip on the bars. I ended up purchasing bar wrap tape separately and wrapping the bars. This is a personal preference but I also felt the sleeves were poor quality compared to the bars.At the time of this review this is priced at $22 and I am very happy with that value and would absolutely recommend these. An enormous comfort improvement for such a fantastic price.

Excellent Value and Construction
The machining and overall appearance of these handlebar adapters are seamless and feel very durable. The included slip-on grips are very thick and flexible and should see a long life of use.Highly satisfied overall with the quality and value of these adapters and will update after putting some mileage on them. 5 stars.
