Triple External Monitor Setup w/ 2017 MacBook Air!
This device worked flawlessly and exceeded my expectations. You won't be disappointed, just make sure to INSTALL THE DRIVERS for the device or you will get nowhere with it; if you did get it to work without a driver, your overall experience will likely be less than ideal. I have a 2017 MacBook Air and was told by Apple themselves, this MacBook would NOT support more than dual external displays. They were wrong. What I did to achieve this triple monitor setup (quadruple display if you count the MacBook monitor, I don't) is I used this USB to (2) Displayport splitter and a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable. Do NOT use the adapter, use the straight cable instead. The adapter causes serious issues and I strongly discourage anyone that is looking to use one. Hope this helps! P.S. If you’ve been trying to find answers or a guide to using triple external monitors with a MacBook Air or any MacBook actually, you won’t. Well, nothing I found helpful at all. This is because the thunderbolt 3 port will only support (2) external monitors via each TB3 controller. (MacBooks with 4 ports have 2 separate controllers which means up to 4 displays) by the way, this information applies ONLY to non-thunderbolt monitor’s. Those monitors you can daisy chain.

mid- 2013 Macbook Air - Works perfectly!
I was amazed how well this little device worked for my mid-2013 macbook air. I have it connected to two Dell 27" monitors and it is flawless! No lag or delay. I wouldn't use it for gaming but for professional business (making the donuts) use is perfect! I had a little bit of trouble with the driver. Do not plug in the device until you download the latest drivers (I had to upgrade to Mojave) and installed the latest drivers from startech. Be sure to also allow whatever permissions it asks for and reboot when prompted. Be sure to go into privacy and security and allow the startech program to run. After that - you may want to reboot again just to be safe and once you log back in - connect the device and you should be good to go. I am thrilled with this purchase! I've purchased a second one for another desktop configuration.

Fantastic adapter but drivers need to be installed.
I got this adapter for work. At my job they give us Surface tablets with an i5. I kept having issues with it not able to keep up with me. I went and got a Dell with an i7 and well I soon found out that I only had one output. I came to Amazon and found this, it is pricey but I went for it as it was for work anyways. I love the fact that I can use the ethernet and it uses USB 3.0. What I did not like however was that I assumed it would be plug and play but thats not biggie. I am in IT. What I then found was that you have to go to the exact link on the manual as their website cannot search for their own products (Startech.com). A google search did not help either so I typed it all up and long and behold the drivers. Installation was quick and easy. The adapter works super fast and allows me to use dual split screens and three if I want to use the built in monitor. Ethernet is Gigabit so its super fast. I like the adapter and after months of usage it still connects fast and the usb connector is still like new. They used good plastic for the USB side. I like that i do not need a power source to use this adapter. I still rate this a 5 though I find it odd that a company that sells these adapter does not show their own adapter on their site and typing in the name or model number gives 0 results. Luckily I still had the manual and typed it all out and got it to work.

This thing is great!
This this did a great job. It is runs 60 hz 4k perfectly. I have it running on an amazon basics 4k 60hz displayport to hdmi cable. I only have it running on one of the display ports on the device so I cant say how it works with two but it doesn't get hot with one. This DisplayLink drivers allow an experimental setting of 1440p 60hz hi resolution as well which is what Im using on my 4k monitor because 4k has the icons to small on my mac. Overall Im very happy with the product and glad I found it. I can now have three screens on my mac mini m2 8gb. You can watch netflix on chrome and amazon prime on chrome if you turn off hardware acceleration in chrome settings.

Perfect
Works perfect for my needs. Tried a USB-C to D.Port adatper and could not get it to work. This one works perfectly and the fact it is dual Display Port means I can eventually add another Display monitor to my current setup. Great addition of the gigabit ethernet port.

Good for connecting two monitors! But there are issues
It was working fine initially. Within few weeks, I started noticing random screen flicker and display issues. When i switch to regular hdmi cable with hdmi port in the laptop, the problem went away. May be there is an issue with this hardware. Also, there is an issue with switching audio automatically from monitor to bt headset and it may require manually choosing your audio device. I did not notice this issue when using laptop hdmi port.
