I got my Kindle in May of last year, and since then I've barely ever left the house without it. I take to work so I can read on my commute, and anywhere else I might expect to get enough reading time. I've primarily read ebooks for several years now, so while the ability to take your books with you everywhere wasn't new to me, there are so many other aspects of an e-reader that make for a vastly superior reading experience than on an iPad or even a phone, as I was accustomed to. The most significant of these is the e-ink display, I cannot overstate how much more comfortable reading on it is than on OLED screens. I can't stand to read on my iPad or phone anymore now that I have a kindle, it's that much better. The other pros that make this a worthy purchase are the long battery life (just keep it on airplane mode until you need WiFi, e.g.: to download books or sync across your devices), USB-C, portability (it's lighter than current flagship smartphones), ability to 'sideload' books (reading books not purchased from the Amazon store), and lastly, the beautiful matcha green colour 😁 I'd say buying the kindle is a no-brainer if you already mostly read ebooks like me, and definitely worth a try if not. The Matcha kindle was my first ever kindle, and I look forward to using it for the years ahead.

The matcha color is beautiful and very easy on the eyes. This is my second Kindle and I actually prefer it over the Paperwhite - it’s more compact, lighter, and easier to carry around. I love that I can bring my whole library with me and read anytime: during commute, while waiting in line, or just relaxing. Perfect gift for yourself or any book lover!

I recently bought the Amazon Kindle (16 GB) – Matcha color and have been using it daily, so I wanted to share a detailed review that might help others decide. I can reduce the font size and still read comfortably, which means I see more words per page. Adjustable front light: The built‑in light is excellent. I can read in complete darkness without straining my eyes, and I like that the brightness is easy to control depending on whether it’s day or night. Comfortable on the eyes: Because it’s e‑ink and not a normal bright screen, I can read for a long time without the eye strain I usually get from my phone. Performance & Page Turns Faster page turns: The page turns are noticeably faster and smoother compared to older Kindle models I’ve seen. There’s very little lag when flipping through pages or opening books. Menus and navigation: Moving around the menus, opening the library, and searching for books feels quick and responsive. Battery Life Long‑lasting battery: The battery life is one of my favorite things. With regular daily reading, I don’t need to charge it very often. It easily lasts for many days, even weeks, depending on how much I read and how bright I keep the light. Charging: It charges via USB-C (if that applies to your model – adjust if needed), which is convenient because many other devices use the same cable. Storage & Content 16 GB storage: 16 GB is more than enough for a huge number of ebooks. I don’t have to worry about running out of space anytime soon. Perfect for book lovers and students: It’s ideal for people who read a lot, whether for pleasure, school, or work. You can easily carry an entire library with you. Comfort & Everyday Use Great for travel and commuting: Because it’s so light and small, it’s perfect for trips, commuting, or even reading in cafés. If you need a way to really make your wife happy—this Kindle is your new best friend. Seriously, I haven’t had to do a single book club recap in weeks. She’s buried in her Kindle, and frankly, I’m starting to think it might be her new true love. Pros: Endless distraction. This thing keeps her so hooked, I’m starting to feel like a side character in her life story. I’ll say, “Hey babe,” and she’s like, “Shhh, I’m at a pivotal moment in my novel.” I’ve never been so ignored in my life. - Light and portable. She takes it everywhere—on the couch, on the toilet, in bed, at dinner. It’s like the Kindle is the third wheel in our marriage now, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. - Tons of books. She never runs out of things to read, which means fewer questions like, “What should I read next?” (Thank god, because I’m out of answers.) - battery seems to last for weeks (well certainly 8-12 days, but the rate she’s reading it’s an impressive capacity! - she loves the simple user interface, good quality build and the softness of the casing. Cons: It's starting to develop a bond with her. At this point, I’m worried they’re having private conversations about plot twists. I’m just here for the snacks, folks. If you’re looking for a way to keep her busy and really entertained (while she simultaneously falls in love with her Kindle), then go ahead and get it. I’m starting to think I need one too, to read the same books, then we can talk again…

Amazing and it didn’t take long for me to get used to, however it replace the physical books. But it’s convenient for traveling, to keep the habit of reading.

I’m writing this for anyone who still can’t make up their minds whether or not they need a Kindle, or who are not sure if it’s worth it. I’ve been there and I was so uncertain about getting one. Even after ordering it, I thought of canceling the order million times. But I didn’t and I’m thankful I didn’t! IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! It was way above my expectations and it’s not complicated at all as some claim it to be. More importantly, it doesn’t take away the joy of reading from a physical book, since you don’t feel like reading from a digital screen at all and you can still experience the feeling of reading from a paper somehow. It’s perfect for people who tend to read in darker places. I love reading before bed and in the dark and I used to feel slightly uncomfortable holding my book and my reading light. With a Kindle, it’s only one small device that’s extremely light-weight and with built-in light that you can adjust to your eye comfort. It’s SO convenient when you’re traveling or spending some time on the road. It’s portable and can fit anywhere, I always put it in my waist bag and it fits perfectly. And although it’s a small compact device, it doesn’t feel like that when reading, the 6 inch screen is a perfect size and you can adjust the font and font size easily. Another amazing option that I knew nothing about until I got one, is the built-in dictionary/ translator/ Wikipedia search. I used to read with my phone around so I can search the new/ unfamiliar words I come across, which would sometimes lead to distraction and ending up using my phone. With this feature, I can read and still look up new words from the same device and not having to have my phone around. In short, it’s the best experience for any reader. And if you really like reading, don’t worry about the fact that you might not use it often or you wouldn’t find it as interesting as a real book. It’s easy and fun to use and you can take it anywhere you go.
