The housing is IP66 rated when closed. To meet code and obtain a waterproof rating, the unit needs to be installed in a minimum of 4" of concrete. The 20A GFCI outlet is UL listed to meet code and is weather resistant (WR) rated.

I have a dumb question: why is this one $400 and others are $50?

The answer is there are different levels of quality. The Lew Electric models have been tested and certified to be waterproof when installed correctly, have UL listed outlets and a full 1 year warranty. I'd tend to believe the $50 model is likely a cheap knockoff. In most cases you get what you pay for.

Poor design creates installation and useability problems

Instructions and related YouTube video are incomplete. The provided connector is far too bulky for the available space. Constant problems opening and closing the cover because of the connector. Lots of extra screws with no instructions about how or whether to use them. For the problems associated with installing and using the item, I think it is not worth the money. I would not buy this again.
