Argos Value Range DVD Player

Great little DVD player, easy to set up, works fine, looks smart and comes with a remote. Plays both sides of DVDs if you're someone like me who watches lots of boxsets! Great value if you're looking for a no frills player.

Yes it works, cheap and cheerful, does at the moment.

Probably my ignorance in assuming it would just need plugging in but the connection I had for my old DVD player wasn't compatible with the scart hole in the back of the player. Left it for a while and then went to Maplins where i found out that an adaptor would cost about seventeen pounds which I didn't want to spend so tried plugging it into the back of the free view box with a scart lead which i already had and it worked! Overall it's a good DVD player, basic and not a bad picture and I'm pleased with my purchase. Just wish I'd looked at the specifications in the first place and found out that it didn't come with connection.

Works perfectly. Great little DVD player. Bought it for my elderly Mother for its simplicity. My only gripe is that the remote could be much simpler and clearer. EDIT January 2013 - This wee DVD player is still working like a dream after over a year and mum is very pleased with it. She is in her 80s and has had some wee strokes so she needs things which work easily with no fuss and this fits the bill.

I have ordered one other Argos electronic item before and was not impressed then either. The DVD player did not work at all and felt totally cheap in every way including the remote. I returned the item and spent nearly £10 on the return postage none of which I got back from the Seller or Amazon. So in the end I would have been better off buying a better quality item for another £10 more which I am sure would be far superior and more importantly would work out of the box. I suspect Argos is just sending out returns to new customers without checking them properly. A cheap service and a cheap product. Don't touch it.
