I get a taper fade with a #3 hair length on top. My hair is thick and wavy/curly. I tried Kiehl’s silk groom, Giovanni avocado serum and various other balms, gels and moisturizers. I received a sample of this, and was pleasantly surprised. I couldn’t believe it! My hair is not only moisturized, but not greasy. It’s not oily and it does provide some shine and protection from heat and humidity. Don’t expect a firm hold, it’s sort of a soft to medium hold. And you only need a little as it seems concentrated. I will definitely be buying this from now on. Jack Black products are the best, and I’ve tried MANY premium/luxury men’s grooming products over the years, such as Truefitt and Hill hair dressings. I would say my hair is 4a but may be 3c on the scale. The smell is ok, kind of herbal, not offensive.

I got a travel size sample of this from my wife’s coworker who resells beauty products. After using it for a couple days my hair looks more full and vibrant. I decided to continue buying this product and glad it was on sale on Amazon when I bought the big bottle. I use Johnny B hair gel daily so using hair gel can be rough on my hair at the end of the day. This product revitalizes my hair after hair gel use all day. I started using it on my eyebrows as well. It smells fresh as well and has a pleasant scent. I use every man jack tea tree shampoo and apply this after a shower and it does wonders on conditioning and replenishing my hair. It’s kinda expensive but I think it’s worth it.

I have a medium length beard. Very coarse. I have oily skin. I have tried so many other balms and oils, all they did was make my beard more wiry. This is the best product. My beard, is very manageable, full, and groomed. Highly recommended.

For reference: male, medium to thick wavy hair, 6” long. Scent: good, smells natural and leans towards a light rosemary scent. Texture: good, but you may need to use more product than you’d think, which can weigh your hair down a bit. Once you find the optimal amount, it controls frizz, adds a bit texture by better defining your ends, and won’t weigh things down too much. Hold: pretty much none. Again, if you use more product you’ll get a bit of performance in terms of hold, but if you’re looking for a legit light hold you should try a different product. Application is very easy. It even applies to dry hair easily, though the directions say to apply to damp hair. Value: pretty solid in this department. Even using more if you have long hair, you should be able to get a couple months out of a tube. Not amazing, but not bad either. Would I buy it again? I’m on my second bottle and I’m not experimenting with other products like Glacial’s chair cream. While I really like this JB product, it’s tough to get the control I want over my wavy hair which wants to have bits and pieces sticking out every which way in less than flattering shapes sometimes. If I had shorter hair that I really just wanted to boost hydration and add a bit texture to, this product would be great. Same goes for long hair. For medium length hair, hair you’re growing out that isn’t truly long yet, it’s going to depend on your hair type. Again, not bad at all! Just a bit of a chore to get this product to work the way I want it to at this stage in my hair length. Maybe 2-3” longer than it is now, I’ll revisit this product.
