I've never tied a quilt before.** A: I think it'd work well but yes, it will unravel some. You can seal the ends with Fray Check. I've tied one quilt with yarn which I'm not recommending - it's a pain to thread and sew, it unravels, and the knots don't hold particularly well so next time I would try crochet thread or perle cotton. **Q: I received just one ball of thread..
