Amazon Kindle (16 GB) – Lightest and most compact Kindle with glare-free display, faster page turns, adjustable front light and long battery life – With Ads – Black + Kindle Unlimited

I've loved using Kindles, ever since I bought the 4th Gen Kindle, over a decade ago. I recently bought another 4th Gen, a few months ago, to have as a backup. I've been using a 10th Gen, White, Basic for a few years and loved it, because it (unlike all of the black models, I've ever seen) didn't show fingerprints, which, tbh, annoy the heck out of me! However, recently, as it's always been in a case, so I can't understand why, it's developed a small "crack" in the frame, to the right of the screen, so I decided that maybe it was time to upgrade. Looking at the colours of the 11th Gen 2022 Models, I liked the "Denim," but was worried that, it too, would be plastered with fingerprints in no time. So, I was pleased when they brought out the Green/Matcha coloured model for 2024, (although I would've preferred a white option) in the hope that it wouldn't show fingerprints as much as the black option. I decided to wait for the Black Friday offers and was disappointed to find, that when they were listed on Thursday, at first, that only the black option was reduced on the Amazon Site (I later found that the Matcha also went down in price, later in the day) But the Matcha was on offer in a High Street Store, so I immediately ordered it and picked it up on the same day. I have to say, that the Set Up process was a breeze. I used the Kindle App on my phone and within minutes, it was all set up. I am particularly pleased, having spent hours, in the past, having organized my Library into "Collections," that all of my collections were transferred to the new device, which was something that I was worried about, but no issues. As to the device itself. It's a delight. I didn't think I'd like the "green" colour, but I absolutely love it. It's very compact and lightweight and a pleasure to hold "naked," and/or in a case. NO fingerprints. The front "bezels" on the device are made of some sort of matt "coarse," almost "roughly" textured plastic, which resists fingerprints and which makes it very secure to hold "naked." The screen is clearer and sharper than previous Kindles. The page turning process is very snappy and the screen, very responsive in all actions. One thing I am particularly pleased with, is that I have never been a fan of the "progress in book" option, which I couldn't disable/turn off (permanently) on my 10th Gen Kindle and whenever I did, I was constantly "reactivating it," accidentally, which I found very annoying. However, although the options are still available and I have it set to "page/percentage" I haven't once managed to "change," the status of the progress by accidentally touching the screen, at the bottom. In fact, I have tried to deliberately change the progress, to find that it takes several taps to do so, which is something I'm not at all unhappy about, so I'm happy to leave it on "page/percentage," rather than trying to turn it off completely. I have also purchased the OEM case for the device, which, although very pricey, fits beautifully, is comfortable to hold and doesn't feel "bulky" unlike the OEM case, I briefly tried on the 10th Gen Kindle. I did try a cheaper case, but, sadly, in spite of being advertised for the 11th Gen 2024 Model was too large for it and had to be returned. There don't seem to be that many options, thus far, for this particular model of KIndle. All in all, I would say that it's my favourite Kindle yet. If you're looking for a good basic e-reader for a reasonable (especially at the moment) price, then I would say, look no further. I can thoroughly recommend this device! 😉📚

Lovely little dinky thing. Small but very convenient for travelling. It works like any other Kindle. I got the Matcha colour for a change. Very happy with it. Battery life - you’d have to read only a little a day for it to last “months” unquote. It arrived with 56% battery but in 2 days I’ve got it down to 17%. Easy to set up, most already done on arrival if you already have a Kindle account. It comes with a charging cable. Very light to hold and the screen is of a reasonable size to negotiate. Really like it. Only comment is that there are far too many different sizes available and I find getting the correct case a bit of a nightmare. I am writing down the model, year and serial number elsewhere as you cannot read the back of it. But that doesn’t detract from it’s convenience.

I really enjoy using this Kindle. I did have a Kindle prior to 2019 and I can definitely say there has been an improvement in the screen quality. This is lightweight, easy to carry around and it can store so many books. I tend to read just before sleeping and I find that if you use the night view Setting, then that puts less strain on the eyes which is ideal later at night. I really like the sage green colour as I think it gives the Kindle a modern look. Sometimes I do find the fact that the screen is black-and-white quite frustrating, but I think when you are just reading books and not having to look at images, it is probably okay. The advertisements don’t particularly bother me but I can imagine this may be annoying for some people. Overall, I really enjoy owning this kindle and look forward to using it more in the future.

Kindle Basic. This kindle is brilliant, and a good size an very light in weight. Would highly recommen. I find a kindle easier for reading as you can change font size an have a backligh.

I've been using my new lightweight Amazon Kindle, 16GB (green) for three months. I like the size and slimness of this model. The weight in your hand while reading is very comfortable. As I read every day, all day, this feature is important to me. The photos attached show my old(white) Amazon Kindle, which was chunky & heavy to hold in comparison to the newer version. I like the quality & the lightweight feel of this new model. A clear, precise touchscreen screen with choice of light/dark screen. Also faster page turning & longer battery life. With a price of £94.99 with an option of paying over 5 months, interest free is exceptional is great value for month. This little gem of a Kindle ticks all the boxes for me and travels with me everywhere! I give 4 stars, as I have not having fully explored this new model. I would recommend this paperwhite kindle.

Sono davvero soddisfatto di questo Kindle. Lo schermo è nitido e molto piacevole per la lettura, anche dopo diverse ore non affatica gli occhi. La luce integrata è uniforme e permette di leggere comodamente sia di giorno che di sera. La batteria dura tantissimo e il dispositivo è leggero e pratico da portare ovunque. La memoria è più che sufficiente per avere sempre con sé centinaia di libri.

Ottimo e-reader: leggero, compatto e comodissimo da portare ovunque. Lo schermo antiriflesso e la luce regolabile rendono la lettura piacevole in ogni momento. Veloce e fluido, con tanta memoria: perfetto per chi ama leggere . Il colore verde matcha è stupendo👍

Un vrai coup de cœur ! J’utilise ce nouveau Kindle (16 Go, version Matcha) depuis quelques semaines et je suis bluffé par la qualité de lecture. Il est incroyablement léger et compact, on l’oublie presque dans la main, même après plusieurs heures de lecture. L’écran sans reflets est très agréable, même en plein soleil, et le confort visuel est vraiment incomparable avec celui d’un smartphone ou d’une tablette. La rapidité des changements de page est un vrai plus par rapport aux anciens modèles que j’ai pu tester, et l’éclairage frontal réglable permet de lire partout : au lit, dans le train, ou même dehors le soir sans fatiguer les yeux. L’autonomie est juste impressionnante : je n’ai pas encore eu besoin de le recharger malgré une utilisation quasi quotidienne. Ce que j’apprécie aussi, c’est la capacité de 16 Go. On peut stocker une énorme bibliothèque et emporter partout des dizaines de romans, BD ou documents, sans jamais se soucier de la place. Mon seul “regret”, si je puis dire, c’est de ne pas avoir choisi directement le modèle couleur. Ce Kindle fait déjà un boulot fantastique, mais pour les romans graphiques, mangas ou bandes dessinées, j’imagine que ça doit être encore plus immersif. Je m’en contenterai pour l’instant, mais clairement, le jour où Amazon sort un Kindle couleur avec la même légèreté et autonomie, je fonce les yeux fermés. En résumé : un appareil indispensable pour tout amateur de lecture numérique. Confort, autonomie, compacité, tout y est. Si vous cherchez une liseuse fiable, agréable et qui vous suivra partout, foncez, vous ne serez pas déçus !
