Marcy Foldable Adjustable Utility Weight Bench, Strength Training Home Gym for Full Body Workout

I spent a lot of time researching benches similar to this one on Amazon - with prices ranging from $50 to over $200. I was happy to find one that did NOT have the foam leg / ankle holders coming off the end. I would only have ever used those in the Decline position, and hooking my legs over the end of the seat works just fine with this bench. I received and assembled this bench yesterday - and have VERY happy with my decision.Features: This is one of very few benches in this price range that will go into the Decline position AND has the ability to angle the seat to match. This is a big plus. The seat itself is nice and wide / stable. The back is plenty long enough for someone 6' tall, and perhaps even more. In addition, most of the benches in this price range only have 4 positions, this back wrest can be angled 6 different ways, and the seat can be angled three. Very adjustable. The construction is very rugged / stable.Assembly: Took about 25 minutes, and was quite a bit easier than I expected. You will likely need to provide your own adjustable wrench, but the needed Allen wrenches are included. The hardware was on a shrinkwrapped piece of cardboard with each fastener well labeled in such a way that they corresponded with the diagrams in the instruction book. I was able to assemble the entire thing looking only at the pictures.One minor negative: The spring loaded pin that you pull to adjust the seat angle is somewhat tight, and I have to tap it with the heel of my hand to get it to go back into position. It's minor, but doesn't fit quite the way it should. It is key to follow the instructions when they say not to firmly tighten bolts until you have everything put together. This helped the tightness somewhat.While not perfect,it was close, and is a super value for the money. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

This bench has worked out perfectly for what I purchased it for. It is easy to assembly, very sturdy, and works well with the P90x and Body Beast workouts I use it with.I store it in a small office and roll it into my workout area when I am ready to use it. It has wheels on one end and a handle on then other making it quite easy to move.The adjustments are very easy to make as far as flat, incline, decline, and 90 degrees. The seat has a true flat position but also pivots, which I like better than the other utility bench I tried.The only issue I have had is it slides around some when I am using it because my workout area has oak hardwood flooring. I am going to put some thin rubber on the feet of the bench where it contacts the flooring to prevent this . For now I simply put a thin layer of masking tape on the feet to stop the sliding.Not sure about the maximum weight limit but it is very solid feeling with myself (180 lbs) and my dumbbells (103 lbs total) while working out.So far, I highly recommend this product and I will update my review as time progresses to detail how well this bench holds up!UPDATE: 05/20/15This bench continues to hold up well and I am still using it! Still looks new and I am happy with it!

I am impressed and pleased to find such high quality at such an affordable price. This is my first weight bench.Good:1. Steel frame is very well constructed and heavy gauge. More than adequate for the job.2. It is comfortable.3. I am 6' 1" and I can rest my head even in the decline position.4. I purchased this bench especially because the seat tilts and locks in three positions. To try to use such a bench with the back in the decline position, but with a flat seat, would be horrendous.5. Assembly was relatively simple.6. It folds up to reduce storage space requirements.Not So Good:1. When screwing the seat onto its supports, be sure to just barely start each screw in its hole before tightening or you will have a devil of a time lining up the last screw.2. The assembly manual could be clearer for those who are not mechanically inclined.3. Both the seat and backrest had tears in the flimsy fabric on the back. A little superglue fixed that.4. Needs to come with a gallon jug of motivation. ;o)Downright Bizarre!:WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!! Why are there no leg supports on this bench?! With the seat and the back in their full decline positions you slide right off without some way of holding yourself on. Reasonably light and easy to move around. Very easy to set up. Perfect product

This foldable adjustable weight bench is an amazing addition to my home gym. It feels very sturdy and secure during workouts, and the adjustable positions make it perfect for full body strength training. I use it for bench presses, dumbbell exercises, core workouts, and more with no issues at all.

Okay I read the reviews, I bought the bench, assembled it, and I've used it a few times now. So now I'll address the problems people are having to maybe ease your mind about what is happening with this bench.1. People are having trouble assembling it. I'll be honest, I've assembled a lot of stuff in my life... I'm one of those people who took things apart and put them back together as a kid. So I can't exactly give a super accurate account of what the average person would go through while assembling this. But I will just say that I *did* have a couple of "duh" moments when trying to put this together. Namely when assembling the spring loaded bit and the main axle bit. The reason for this is on the main axle, the instructions have you putting the parts on in a strange order... as if you were to be holding pieces in the air with 2-3 sets of hands... But if you just use common sense you can figure out the assembly order of the pieces and just do it your own way, because following the steps can lead to some struggle.The biggest problem I had was with the spring loaded bit where you remove the peg to fold the leg. I believe these instructions were just WRONG in the manual. There is a metal round bit that is beveled like a cone on one side, and the instructions have it look like it goes on one side of the framework when in reality it goes on the other side... The spring mechanism will absolutely not work if you try to assemble it the way it shows in the book. All I have to say is that if you are having difficulty pulling the pin back after assembling (as in, you can't pull it at all) then it's not right.Yes, the pictures are obstructing the view of what order to assemble some washers/nuts/bolts/etc so that is kind of annoying, but just take your time and think through how it should go together and it should be fine.2. It's missing the leg attachment. This bench doesn't come with one. What you see in the picture is what you get. Don't be disappointed that there isn't a leg attachment. It's a product description error. There is absolutely no leg attachment for this bench.3. The allen wrenches are uncomfortable. Well they are allen wrenches... definitely not the most comfortable thing to use. But it's not that bad. Just make sure you have an adjustable wrench handy, because there are a couple sections where you really need to secure a nut while turning the allen wrench and this would kill your hands if you just tried to grab it.So overall the assembly I would say can be moderate to difficult to impossible, depending on your patience and understanding of how to assemble things. If someone needs specific help, feel free to comment and I'll do my best to explain. I'll even take pictures. :)The bench is fantastic though. Very sturdy, I'm 5'11" and fit it great (with half a foot to spare). Doesn't shake or feel weak at all. It even has a handle and wheels for easy portability. The best feature of this bench is that it can fold down. Of course, it's still a big bench so don't expect to get it under your bed, but I had extra space in my closet and this fits perfectly in there standing upright.I am 100% satisfied with this bench. Even if the assembly was a bit confusing. Once it's together, it's a great workout bench. You absolutely can't beat the price. I paid $120 for it and now it's nearly $100 so I'm bummed about that but it just means even more value to anyone who purchases it now. :)

This is just what I wanted. I know that there is a total 300 pound weight limit but since I weigh 160 pounds that leaves me with 140 pounds to work with (which is 70 pound dumbbell in each hand). I am a long way from that point. There is no attachment at the bottom which I never used on my previous bench and just got in the way. With that stupid thing out of the way, the bench surface is longer so even in the incline position, my head still rests on the bench (I am 6 feet 1 inch). Some commenters on other benches have complained that the seat cushion and the back cushion are separated. That is the case with this bench as well. Ironically I like that feature! On my previous bench without the gap, when I finished dumbbell bench presses, I would struggle to get off of the bench. With the gap, and my backside in the gap, it somehow makes it easier to sit up. (I push the dumbbells forward for momentum to get off the bench but somehow the gap makes it easier to sit up). It is very easy to adjust the incline.Having said all the good stuff, I would mention that it is difficult to assemble. Not that this is mechanically complex, it is that whoever wrote the instructions was a retard. The parts list said there was 9 washers but only 2 were provided but luckily only 2 were needed. That should have prepared me. There were some instructions that were physically impossible to do. Put this into that (the parts would be next to each other connected by an axle but the parts could never be inserted into each other). Each time you encounter nonsense you should always refer to the picture and hold the parts to see how they fit. There are only so many possible combinations to assemble the parts. When you encounter nonsense, it will be for a single step. Most of it is okay. One thing that happened is that 2 holes would not line up and I could not get a bolt into them. I bought a rat tail file, widened the hole, and it assembled ok. I think the reason the holes did not line up is because they really beefed up a weld and the bracket would not slide all the way down because of big weld. It took longer to assemble than I expected but I am not sure how long it took since I had to go get a file.

I purchased this bench about a year ago and have been using it in my home gym ever since. It has performed very well use a few times a week. So far no real signs of wear and tear to speak of. The assembly was not very complicated and took about a half an hour. The cushioning on the bench is thick and firm and provides good support. It is a simple bench overall. The real deluxe feature is that it is adjustable for a variety of exercises. It goes from totally flat to fully upright and does not wobble at all in any position. I use it for flat bench press, incline and decline bench press, bench dips, seated military press, seated dumbbell curls, tricep extensions, bent over one arm rows, etc. The only thing that I wish the bench had was some system to hold your feet in place for doing decline sit ups. Other than that, I have no complaints. Definitely a great addition to a home gym and an excellent purchase for the price.

I'm not a huge lifter, but I've set up a home gym as a result of covid. I wanted a bench to do bench press, military press and maybe some incline. I do not do decline. Local stores were sold out of their affordable benches; spent a lot of time looking on Amazon. So much of the product on Amazon looked like crap and reviewed like crap. Too flimsy. Not supporting enough weight. I'm only benching 120 lbs; but combined with my 185 lbs body weight, i'm at the limit of many of the inexpensive benches. This is really the only one that looked sturdy enough and adjustable enough (many reviewers complain of slipping off the seat if the seat is not adjustable when doing incline).You have to do assembly, but instructions are well laid out and parts are well identified. I commend them for their method of parts identification. No problem here. It assembled together well.On first test, it feels very sturdy. It's a good length and width for me (I'm 6'2"). Adjustments work fine. I really like the wheels for moving it in and out of my rack.Update: I initially rated at five stars. I've noticed the quality control standards are below my expectation. The mounting holes on the underside of the seat pad aren't aligned properly with the pad. The result is the seatpad is angled when mounted (see photo). It's cockeyed enough that it bothers me. I'm going to contact the company and see what they say.Update #2: Contacted the company and received an immediate (within 30 minutes) response. They are sending me a new seat pad, no questions asked. I am in Canada. The company also responded that if I receive any import charges, they will cover them. Great customer service.

If I could give this 4.5/5 then I would, but I will push it to 5 starts as it really is a high quality bench.This bench is a very sturdy, well made piece of equipment. I've been using it for a few weeks now and really do like it. both the bench and seat angles adjust very easily and are very solid once in place. This is good for all exercises I've done so far, including step ups with weights which sometimes are not that solid on other benches. This bench feels like it will last a long time.I was wondering if it folds up for storage as it was not certain from the description. But it does have a pin under the seat you simply pull out, and the leg folds in so that this bench is more easily stored. It is about 10" at the highest point when folded down. It does not fit under my bed, but easily goes into a closet, against a wall, etc for storage.There are only two things I wish it had - one more decline position, and leg supports for doing decline sit ups etc. But It is shown in the picture and information that it does not have those things, so I can't fault it for that.Overall this is a great bench and good value for the money
