So far this ecollar is very easy to use and very helpful teaching my pup boundaries for acceptable behavior. The battery life is good so far and ease of use makes this a good tool for training. Just try it on yourself first so you know how strong the different levels are, then I followed an online tutorial. The tutorial has you very gradually increase levels until your pup reacts slightly. Then you have an idea of your dogs tolerance without hurting them. Good product.

Easy to use! Great for training! We were using a different popular brand before and wish we would have switched to Dogtra sooner! Having the option of tone, vibration, and stimulation functions makes training more effective. The light option makes playing at night safer. So glad we bought this collar!

This is my first e-collar so I don’t have another product to compare to: but the 280x is compact, feels sturdy and rugged, and works as advertised. Love the led light so you can see your doggo in low light conditions. Also the boost function is genius. Mine has a pretty low working level until a squirrel or deer runs in front of her and then the high prey drive kicks on so this preset feature makes it easy to get their attention when theyre locked in to chase mode

I did need to return this model, exchange it for the dogtra ARC-X however I do believe this unit is every bit as good as the one I exchanged it for This is an excellent product. I've got a young husky, that should say it all, but she really has a mind of her own and I didn't want something to punish her I wanted something to teach her to engage her to share time with her. This product gives me the ability to do just that. I can communicate with her non-verbally and verbally to create a connection between the two of us. This is a quality product not like some of the "cheaper" products that you can find. This is a professional piece of equipment that allows the average dog owner the ability to take care of their four-legged family members. I opted for this unit for several reasons the slim fit the fact that it will fit multiple sizes of animals as I have a 110 lb GSD I have an 80 lb Ridgeback and a 60 lb husky after undergoing a four-way bypass surgery I needed something to help me get through to this husky, then I realized I really need to get through to the others so the fact that it has three family member capacity was key in my purchase. I am very pleased and happy that I was able to find this product.

Recommended by my dogs trainer to help with his 2 frightening issues, chasing cars and not coming when called. Although our yard is fully fenced, my cattle dog mix would chase cars on our side of the fence and it was scary. My fear was somehow a gate might be left open, and lead to his continuing to chase vehicles down to road or worst case, under a wheel. Our trainer suggested the Dogtra collar for of its ease of use, different types of commands sent to the dog and her use of this system every day. It is more expensive, but much easier to use, more substantial, and change command types. My boy responds to the easy to adjust shock, usually set at 15. After a few uses, he started responding to the beep and/or vibrate. Each dog is different, that's how he responded. Follow the directions, and if possible work with a trainer to fine tune your use of this training tool. I'm so glad I bought it.
