Bonide Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew Ready-to-Use Spray, 32 oz Outdoor Insecticide and Mite Killer for Organic Gardening

I'd give this 4.5 stars if that was an option. I bought it for thrips on my plants, and it does work, just not quite as effective as some other products I've used in the past. However, the ease of use (not having to mix it with water, no mess) makes up for that. One day after the first application most of the thrips were gone. It also seemed to work pretty well on the leaf roller caterpillars that were also on the plants. It's been a week since I used it and my plants are already looking healthier. To protect pollinators, use the spray in the evening so it can dry overnight. For best results, don't use it if it's going to rain. I didn't notice any odor from the product, but I also didn't get real close to it to smell it.

Exactly what I needed to kill the pests eating my rose bushes. After one application in the evening (top and bottom of the leaves) I saw no new damage. About a month later and the roses are showing great new growth. I applied again 3 weeks later just for added protection. there is no smell, the product is well diluted and safe for gardens that you plan to eat from.

Amazing product, it killed my garden pests instantly without damaging the plants. It killed spider mites, lace bugs and leaf miners. It been a hot summer in Florida and my plants got attacked by a few pests. This product is fantastic and it’s safe for pollinators if you apply it in the late afternoon when pollinators are not active and allow it to dry for 3 hours. I am impressed by the efficiency and happy my butterfly garden is safe!!

I’ve had really good luck with Captain Jack’s for almost everything in my garden. It’s been especially helpful with the usual Florida pests that love to go after my plants. The only real downside for me is that it doesn’t touch mealybugs at all. I was hoping it would make a dent, but no change, which was a bummer. Still, for everything else it’s become a staple in my plant cabinet, so I keep buying it.

This stuff has been a God send for me this year! I hate having to resort to insecticides, but this year I had an invasion of thrips on all my plants and flowers. They were destroying my garden and I am so glad I heard about Deadbug Brew because it has helped so much. I also watered my plants with some beneficial nematodes, and bam, hardly any thrips around now! I only used this right before nighttime when no pollinators were around. Had to treat my plants about once a week, but it is working great. It hasn't burnt or hurt my plants or flowers at all, which I was scared of initially after a bad experience with neem oil. Highly recommend this to eradicate thrips!

Got my thrips under control! Sprayed every plant every 6 days for a month and used bonide systemic granules in all of my plants soil. I'm no longer finding any thrips damage on my plants. Unfortunately it didn't work for spider mites, you need a miticide for them. But I can say this works for thrips!

I have mixed thoughts about this product. It kills the bugs on my pepper plants virtually instantly but with a couple of days they are all back.

Can’t tell if this is having any affect on the bag worms on one of our arborvitae trees, so I can’t attest to its effectiveness. Aside from that, ordered two bottles about one week apart. One came with a good spray nozzle (white with tan nozzle and cap) the other was a totally different design (all white) and it was terrible.
