Yep. It's that good.
I charges for about 15 minutes when I first got it and I've been using it for a couple of weeks now with my MacBook and it works great. I still cannot understand how to program the programmable buttons but even without using that feature it is a very solid controller. It is definitely on par with OEM in terms of build quality and materials and it did not have stick drift right out of the box which is more than I can say for my $150 PS5 controller. There are a few games that do not recognize the controller and I realize it could be a game programming issue. The good news is is the OS does recognize the controller and you can use a remapping utility to add support for any games that don't support the controller on its own. Even with the minor inconveniences this is by far the best most inexpensive controller I have ever purchased and I am very impressed with this company. It seems as if all those five star reviews that people are leaving are warranted after all. Highly recommended!

Great Purchase!
Great controller! Good joysticks and buttons! Battery life is good too. Connect easily to the device. Love the color!

Great Controller, not for competitive Smash Bros
I've been using this controller for the better part of a month now, and I have to say that I love it for the most part. The build quality is great. The buttons, control sticks, and rumble are all excellent for a third party controller. I also love the hall effect joy sticks that don't drift. Incredible overall build quality. HOWEVER... If you play Super Smash Bros Ultimate competitively like I do, you will find that the latency of the controller gets inconsistent when really pushed. I assume that the Bluetooth connection is super susceptible to interference, and input latency tends to skyrocket. I have no latency problems when connected to steam, only when it's connected to the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, and is especially bad when streaming your games to Youtube or Twitch. If you're just a normal gamer, you will enjoy this controller. If you're looking for a dedicated smash controller that lasts a long time, pass this one up.

Great Switch 2 controller.
LOVE this 8bitdo ultimate 2C bluetooth controller. With the firmware update it also works on the Switch 2 which is where we use it on. We pick this controller up way more than the switch 2 controllers or the pros. The joysticks, buttons and overall feel are fantastic. We've not noticed any stick drift and all the buttons have been very responsive. It does NOT wake the Switch 2 however, so keep that in mind. Yes you will need to hit the power button on the switch itself...not a deal breaker for us. The battery is pretty decent as we've only had to charge it about once a week with 1~2 hours of use per day. I wish they made this in more colors so we could get a set of 4. Warning! make sure you get the Bluetooth version, 8Bitdo make a ton of different variants that all look similar but not all work on the Switch 2.

Do not buy
The controller died and is non-responsive after only a few months. No support from Amazon or 8bit.

Pretty much a perfect controller
This is an awesome controller in terms of both quality and value. It essentially offers the premium feel and features of any flagship 8BitDo controller. It does have a few connectivity quirks when trying to use it on Android or PC because it defaults to the Nintendo button layout. However, using it on a Switch or Switch 2 is a completely straightforward experience. You just sync it up exactly like any other pro controller. I really can't say this enough, but the overall build quality and comfort are superb. My only real complaint is the color selection. I just wish they offered more options besides all of these pastel colors, which in my opinion are a bit boring and very hard to match with setups

Good for small hands.
Good for small hands! This controller is much better than the Switch 2 joy on grip. It's lighter, easier to hold and has better button placement than the joycons. The controller paired instantly with Switch 2 and did not need a firmware update as the descqription text suggests. There are 2 things I don't like so much. The buttons are clicky and loud but I will get used to that. The vibration is also emanating from the controller "head" and not in the grips so there is less of a feedback feel. The vibration is also quite strong and that can be distracting. The grips are lightly textured so it won't feel slippery if your hands sweat. Over all, this controller is a very good value.

Steer clear of Power A get these!
Best brand of third party controller out there period. I highly recommend these over anything made by Power A. I’m scratching my head as to how those get Nintendo’s seal of quality and these somehow do not. I’ve never had a wireless power A but I had 2 wired ones that didn’t last 2 months complete garbage these work great. I did have an issue with a game called overcooked and its sequel disconnecting when using these but I’ve tested many other games without any issues for some reason those games don’t like those controllers but other than that they are perfect (just got through playing a 30 turns game of Mario party jamboree with zero issues) and I’ve been using 8 bit do controllers they make for other consoles Iike retro consoles for several years now and they work flawlessly. The build quality is better than I’ve ever seen with any other 3rd party controller.

Excellent Value - pro controller without the Pro price
For a third of the price of a Switch 2 Pro Controller, you really can’t go wrong with this. PROS: - Connecting to my Switch 2 worked right out the box. Pretty seamless, the Switch thinks that it’s an actual Switch Pro controller. - Build quality is great. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. Has some nice weight and does t strain the hands even after long periods of gaming. - Buttons and joystick feels amazing. - Two remappable buttons and turbo mode - two thumb grips were included (wish they colour matched these though). CONS: - the vibration/rumble is nowhere close to joycons or the Pro controller. It is significantly harsher and doesn’t feel as “accurate” as a result. - noticeable input lag with the two remappable buttons (“L4” & “R4”). - DPAD wobble but this is quite minor.

Feels premium
Feels like a premium Nintendo controller, does not feel after market or cheap in any way. Button travel is perfect joysticks are nice and smooth along with being responsive in the way you would expect. Honestly blown away and will buy more from this brand.

Great Alternative to the switch pro controller.
Great Alternative to the switch pro controller. hall effect joysticks, great build quality, motion and vibration at a fraction of the price of the switch pro controller. with a firmware update it's also compatible with the switch 2. Only feature missing is that it can't wake up the switch. But for less than a third of the price, I would still choose this hands down.

Quality issues, and zero warranty support from the manufacturer
Bad quality. Didn't even last 2 months. No warranty. Contacted 8bitdo for warranty, and they referred me back to Amazon, which is pointless. If you buy one of these, YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY!!! They may as well say it only has a 30 day warranty, through Amazon, because that's all you'll get! My left stick started "sticking" in a spot, and started to drift. I ran the calibrate utility on the Nintendo Switch dozens of times. Constantly would come out of calibration, and then drift. When I'd rotate the stick in the calibration process, I noticed a spot it would stick on. Eventually, the stick just jammed at this spot, and when I moved it beyond, it just broke. Less then 100 hours of playtime on this thing, and nothing crazy, just Stardew and Mario Galaxy.

Why doesn't it just have an x-input mode
I love 8-bit do and don't get me wrong. I like this controller quite a lot. However, I have problems with it. I bought this particular one because I wanted a pink controller. They don't make the ultimate in pink which is annoying. But the thing that I find truly annoying about this controller is how it is seemingly for no real reason designed to only work on switch. It works for PC and I've been using it for my PC ever since I got it, but not the way it should in x input mode. I don't really appreciate that they locked out functionality from their other controllers for no real reason. I don't understand why every other 8-bit do controller I have has a button combination to launch it in x-input mode and this controller doesn't. My $30 m30 works on PC, Android switch and more, but not this controller for some reason? And keep in mind I own over 10 8-bit do controllers. I don't like this path they are going down of releasing super specific, low compatibility controllers where they essentially just pull functionality out of something they've already made. I would have gladly paid the $80 for a 2C ultimate in this color that came with a charging dock and was usable on everything but they don't make one.
