NECA - Re-Animator - 8? Clothed Action Figure - Herbert West

This is a great figure of Doctor Herbert West. He looks just like the Reanimator character as played by the talented Jeffery Combs. His clothes fit nice and his accessories are truly excellent. There is a pack of pencil/pens that go into his pocket, making him look very intelligent. He has a filled syringe which fits perfectly in his hand. There is also a vial of Serum. Both are really bright and look like its glowing. The paint work was well done. There is also Rufus the cat, in his undead glory. Rufus has an angry look to him and has some exposed bone and blood. As awesome as Rufus is, the severed head of Doctor Hill is the best accessory. It comes with a bloodied try of course, and the head bares a pretty good likeness to actor David Gale. I was really happy with this accessory. The clothes fit West well. His accessories/props make him a nice figure to display with the other Neca toys. These clothed figures Neca puts out are really awesome, they keep getting better and better. I was pleased when they produced this figure as there are not many Reanimator merchandise. I hope they go into more cult films.

This toy is amazing. It came in perfect condition. The edge of the plastic box was slightly cracked on the edge (the container itself was completely sealed, this happens with this sort of hard plastic) but who cares? It was out of the plastic in less than five minutes. Admittedly some of NECA's other toys have amazingly cool packaging but it's the toy that I wanted, not the packaging. If this is what the other people were complaining about they need to take about 1000 seats because this is one of the coolest toys I've ever owned.

From the other reviews, I was scared of how his face sculpt would look, so either I got very lucky or the others could have been bootlegs somehow. But overall, it's a very solid figure. His joints are a bit stiff, and his paint job is a little off, but that's to be expected with a NECA figure. I genuinely love this little guy so much, and he's decently sized. For what I paid, I'm very happy with him. <3

Finally Herbert West has an action figure. it's 8 inches tall with cloth goods and loads of accessories, good enough face sculpt. The one issue is the eyes are poorly painted. They look like little black peas, rather than eyes. If you love horror, this is a must buy. 4 1/2 out of 5 very much recommended

All in all this is a fantastic figure and, let's face it, the chances of getting another Herbert West figure are slim. That being said, there are some slight issues. If you're not a fan of clothed action figures it's probably because the clothes can sometimes be hard to manipulate or they look a little strange on the character. Those issues are present here as they are in most of this type of figure. I'd say, however, that in this figure's case they are not as glaring given that he is wearing a lab coat. The head sculpt is good but not amazing. I'll go one further and say it's great but not the best they could have done. Jeffrey Combs is definitely recognizable but there's something just a smidge off. These two "issues" can be easily dismissed based on taste. I, personally, don't find them all that problematic. The next one though is a a doozy. The skin tone on this figure is pretty crazy. It's not very natural and a bit too vibrant. So, the figure stands out in an unbecoming way in this regard. This is my only true problem with the figure and I hope that it was just in the case of my particular one versus it being the case across the board. That being said, West comes backed with tons of accessories that will delight fans of the movie and look fantastic. You'll get a shovel, a needle with the serum, a serum bottle, the freakin' cat, and a pan containing Dr. Hill's head. This head, btw, is amazingly sculpted AND has a normal skin tone. So, yeah...that only makes the aforementioned issues stand out. I got mine for under 30 bucks which is well worth it but you might wanna make sure in person that you're satisfied with the product to see if it's worth spending money on it.

What's not to enjoy about this delightful toy? Its basically 3 figures in one and it looks amazing with my Re Animator collection. I cant watch these films enough and now I have this amazing action figure edition to waaaaatch these films with me. Do yourself a favor and snag one before they're gone

I collect action figures. Only one corner of clamshell damaged. Two out of three were fine.
