can these be used to paint greenware

I have used these paints on finished ceramics and glass and they work beautifully. (I am also a potter) I would not want to use them on greenware since it takes a specific paint or stain to withstand firing temperatures.

Would I be able to use this to paint the rim of a coffee mug where it meets with someone's lips?

Yes! Unless the person has any kind of allergy. It won't fade. This paint is excellent. I painted a couple of mugs and I use them everyday. Dishwasher is not a problem. Try them!

Could I use this to paint a glass light shade? It appears that it isn't flammable

The Pebeo Porcelaine line is meant to be painted onto smooth, bake-able, glossy surfaces. A glass sconce or light shade should be fine.
